Good to see size isn't holding him back. Check out those stats:

2020-21 Metallurg Novokuznetsk VHL

13GP ... 1G ... 2A ... 3Pts ...+1 ... 2PIM's

Guy was the next "Alex DeBrincat"

I still like Benning on Gunnarsson "I think he's going to play" 12 points in 4 years since being drafted.

Even Chris Tanev in his only season in College had 28 points in 41 games.

What team needs both all the time? If you can sign a college free agent that has a worth of a 2nd round, why not trade that 2nd rounder to help the NHL club, the thing that actually means something. Not being ranked #1 in the farm system rankings every year.
- manvanfan

Typically a college free agent takes up 1 of the 50 slots available, a 2nd round pick typically isn't always signed right after they are drafted, allowing the prospect pool to be replenished in subsequent years.

Well poor Vantel chased from his throne atop Carols blog. Must be humbling to fall that far. Forced to comment on Eklunds thread just to be heard.
You guys should feel bad.

I can post here . If there is anything intersting that doesn't include Benning is an idiot , I will think about it.

Thanks for caring about what I do and then walk over to a mirror and ask if your life has really sunk this far that your most important thing of the day is to wonder what Vantel is doing?

I am learning to pick battles that are worth fighting.

Today's topics are adding a sweetner to fix a cap problem that doesn't exist or why doesn't the Canucks farm club have more young prospects on it even thought they have had three Calder Trophy finalists on it three years in a row.

Do I want to be part of that discussion? Fuk no. Have fun.

Obviously, it's 100% of 2nd round picks, that Vancouver hasn't made.

None of those players played a game in the farm system.

Does it really matter that your Calder winner played in Sweden first instead of Utica?

Anyways I think it's a dumb topic if you guys want to talk about it go ahead.

Well, I think it’s an important distinction because the Canucks don’t have any input or control over how their drafted players progress in other leagues, while they have direct control over everything that goes on in Utica.

I was only pointing out your examples didn’t impact the team in NY, and opposing Mini’s perspective that trading away all your 2nd rounders is a good idea because undrafted FA’s are just as good. I think you can do both, draft players (in earlier rounds than later) and look for over productive young FA’s.

I never said "trading away all" the 2nd round picks. I said if there was an opportunity to improve the actual hockey club and it cost a 2nd round pick and you signed a free agent in the off season that is playing like a 2nd round pick.

I’m just listening to the Vancast (Jeff Patterson and Thomas Drance), they think Seattle will take Macewan, as Myers will be too risky given the dollars remaining on his contract. They went on to say that the Canucks are clearly the expansion winners, given what all other teams had to surrender in comparison.

My guess would be Seattle is going to have a better team than this.

Yes but we’re all about sensationalism in here so if someone says something that you can disagree with even a little, you can extrapolate that thing out into a bigger argument.

Did they say who they would protect on defense?
As I see it right now it is
Schmidt
Juolevi

It could go a million ways. Unfortunately, my team doesn't "meet" all requirements as of right now.

I'm short of contracts for the coming season. Only 16 out 20.

Krejci is a free agent.

Zac Mac has a contract to 2022 is probably why. Getting to those 20 signed players makes things way harder.

Guessing, you are wrong, I had to cheat to get that line up.

There will be trades though.

There was mention of Raffy - if he showed well and was a viable, cost controlled dman moving forward. Basically saying the Canucks are in great shape for the expansion draft as several potential and existing players were exempt, and others too risky to take.
