I'm a proponent of not finding those to blame, but determining why things went wrong. I personally believe that it would not have mattered one bit who was behind the bench the last 2.5 years, this team as constructed would not have done much, if any, better. I think Colliton will have this year to prove his worth or he will be out.
It is what it is. - Chunk
Colliton’s worth will be determined by how well the young players get developed while in The Show.
It’s up in the air as to whether or not he will be the coach to lead the team when it’s ready to win. |

Hahaha which part gm or head coach, hahaha - BetweenTheDots
He should have been owner!
I actually didn't think he was all that bad. He was basically in the exact same position as Colliton. Taking over for a legend after the team had fallen on harder times and the roster was gutted.
The best QB he had was the end of Jim Harbaugh (also, PT Willis, Steve Walsh, Erik Kramer, Dave Kreig, Rick Mirer, Steve Stenstrom, Moses Moreno). The D was what was left over from the good times and guys like Alonzo Spellman, Donnell Wolford, Warrick Holdman and Bryan Cox.
Again, like Colliton, not a world beater, but when you are given those ingredients... |

I don't know about JC, but I'm willing to give him a spin, i hear you about taking over for a legend and yes the team was in decline. His personnel decisions is what hurt him big mistake by McCaskey allowing this but what else is new, I'm glad JC isn't in charge of personnel decisions we'd probably be known as South Fargo |

Lots discussed on #NHLPA Exec Board call today, much of which is still in discussion/negotiation with #NHL.
Talk of expanded rosters, from 23 to 26, with 4 additional taxi squad members for total of 30. Taxi squad could earn AHL salary but receive NHL benefits and per diem. |

Yes indeed. I think my favorite Wanny move was trying to get Raymont Harris, and I think it was Robert Green on the field at the same time. He did it about five times and gained about 6 yards.
I hear you about JC. For sure Seabrook wouldn't be playing much, if at all (at least pre-surgery Seabrook). We'd have a team full of Highmores, Hagels, and Kampfs. |

I wonder how that will change if/when the AHL starts back up. |

Yeah, not sure how that will play out. Detalls could come out by week's end.
I haven't listened to the news audio yet but there are also reports that compliance buyouts have been discussed.
It could just mean the topic was brought up and quickly nixed. But perhaps there is a possibility of owners approving. |

A majority of Blackhawks prospects who are at WJC camps are no longer going or likely not going:
Reichel: tested positive for COVID but not showing symptoms.
Commesso and Vlasic: Boston University isn't playing yet due to COVID restrictions thus their players can't play elsewhere either (they're otherwise healthy).
Saarela: injured so no longer on the camp roster.
Slaggert is not likely to make Team USA unless COVID impacts other players to open up a spot for him.
Dach is a lock to make Team Canada but may return to Chicago if NHL approves an RTP plan.
Teply and Krutil are likely to make Team Czech Republic. - Theo Fox
Poor drafting by Stan.

Rumors abound that Vegas is trying to ship out Pacioretty, Marchessault, Tuch, Martinez, and/or Fleury. They will need to add sweeteners.
Nobody should be doing them any favors. |

Hmmmm after talk about compliance buy outs
Marchessault or Tuch would look great in a Blackhawks sweater
I guess they wont be able to shed Paccioretty easily now |

Still has to be approved by the Board of Governors - some, I’ve read, are unhappy with the same terms as the June MOA. |

If Ross was so good, why are they looking to blow up the team? - LAHawk
COVID and a self imposed payroll CAP. He got an under achieving offense and a poor bullpen to the playoffs. Well done fir his 1st season. |

I understand your frustration, but for now it doesn't really matter, its not like Q forgot how to coach, the team just became older and less talented over time. Play the kids and let them get valuable experience no matter how frustrating it will be.
Just look at the Bears, they just have no clue, zero, Halas passed away they couldn't wait to get rid of Ryan then Ditka fast enough. Since then the coaches have been miserable. - BetweenTheDots
Didn’t Lovie get them to the playoffs 3 consecutive years and to the Super Bowl? |

I’d take Tuch off their hands in a heart beat, but I wouldn’t make it easy on them. It would be nice for the Hawks to benefit from a salary cap crunch for a change.
Carpenter for Tuch + 5th |

I saw on another message board a rumor from someone with connections to the Vegas front office who said there's a Tuch + prospect for Strome trade offer supposedly on the table.
The impasse is the Hawks want a high-end prospect but Vegas is offering up a mid-range or lower-end one.
If this rumor is true, good on Bowman to not cave. Wait for teams to give up the higher-end futures. |

Hey PE! I think they’d have to re-animate Smith before they tried to trade him. |
