Nobody ever talks about Jett Woo. What’s his deal? Dark horse this season? - 1970vintage
I think he needs a year or two in the AHL, but the kid has some serious top 4 upside. I like his game and feel it could compliment Hughes down the line very well. It's up to him to improve his game enough for that though. |

I doubt the 3 extra players will actually count against the cap. - manvanfan
Which is why I said, a place to bury Loui and his cap hit.
The cap strapped teams will like this, especially Tampa.
If the league does this, they are circumventing the cap rules, which is supposedly against the league rules, ie; recapture penalties(Luongo) |

Explain being forced out of vehicles on ferries in the name of safety so that you can mingle with hundreds during a pandemic. Some rules are an iq test, you fail to follow... - Pres.cup

lol you can still be compassionate that thoughtful without succumbing to the bullsh!t. My buddy withy stage 4 cancer is staying with me until he goes into pallative care. I'll have the boys over for wings at the house if need be..all good. Had dinner with my brother last night as we are dealing with estate matters regarding the passing of my Dad. Will do what needs to be done regardless of the virtue signaling by the govt. Like I said you do what you think you need to do without worrying what other people do. If it makes you feel good do it.
I go to work, go home, shop daily for things I need, wear a mask to get groceries but it's not by choice that's for sure. Only reason I wear a mask at work is to not get fired...not by choice. Don't wash hands 40 times a day as there is no need. Is what it is. Not everyone believes the same thing. I'll respect what you do and you should do the same the other way. There are always two sides. If you are scared of the surroundings and draconian stuff regarding COVID 1984 then stay home and let the rest of us live our lives...mostly...

I talked to someone the other day through work who is currently doing his 2 week isolation back in Yellowknife after having traveled to Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton. He said he's astounded at how little it feels like anything has changed in those cities. He said he was very happy to be home where we have no cases and everyone is being responsible, wearing masks, keeping distance, etc.
He said if you didn't already know about the pandemic you might not even notice the difference in AB. |

I was talking about players 24-26, who according to what mini posted, would be part of the"regular" roster, at least that is how I read it. |

I’m assuming your continual reference to 1984 is a George Orwell reference, and I think you are letting your paranoia get the better of you. What is the “bullpoop” that you find so difficult to deal with?
You are in a situation now because a bunch of people who don’t share your particular challenges were thoughtless and didn’t follow common sense guidelines. All of BC is struggling because one are is full of people who are just living their lives, that’s pretty selfish.
I have friends who have parents that live alone. They will spend time with them during the holidays, I don’t think any less of them. I am confident that they will use their best judgement. |

Ah, I see. I would imagine for CBA compliance they would need to taxi everyone beyond 23, and then paper players up and down in a hybrid bubble. |

The Nashville Predators have signed one of their 2020 draft picks, inking Luke Prokop to a three-year entry-level contract. Prokop was selected 73rd overall earlier this fall and is expected to return to the Calgary Hitmen of the WHL should they have a season.
It’ll always be mentioned first when discussing Prokop, but there’s just no way around noticing his size before anything else. The 6’4″ forward looks even taller thanks to his long limbs that provide a huge wingspan to disrupt rushes and get his stick in passing lanes. Often defenseman his size struggle with mobility, but Prokop actually can skate quite well and transitions nicely on a turnover.
-----------
Good job pro hockey rumours.
I was hoping Van could pick Prokop up in round 4 or 5. |

With the potential of a 30 man roster being proposed, the Canucks have a total of 10 players that could be with the Comets, 3 of whom are on loan overseas, leaving 7 prospects for the Comets.
Should be ECHL quality in the AHL this season. |

I am hearing rumours that the taxi squad, players 23-30, will be having 3 on 3 games during the 2 opposing teams off days, to keep the players in game shape.
Apparently 2 10 minute periods, no penalties, just skill competion/penalty shots. |

I was actually thinking that with a good deal of CHL teams shut down, the NHL should work out a deal that teams can have their prospects in the AHL so they can be playing. |

I can't speak for Calgary and Edmonton, but Toronto has shut all restaurants for indoor and outdoor dining, non-essential stores are closed, masks are mandatory in all public indoor settings, and I (and everyone I know) haven't been to the office since March - the entire downtown core is a ghost town.
You can't possibly feel like nothing has changed here. |

Many, myself included, have said the same about the playoff thingy and this season, so who knows.
The only way I could see it happening, other than filling out rosters with ECHL players, is if they came to some type of agreement on temporarily sharing farm teams and have them located in one area, such as New York.
It could mean that 2 or 3 teams share 1 farm team.
Who knows. |

I did not know this prior to COVID, but 10 or 11 AHL teams are NOT owned by their NHL affiliate.
I can't possibly imagine them agreeing to a season. Maybe a handful if they operate in a red state that is going to allow spectators.
Add in the 3 Canadian-based teams, and it just seems like the challenges are too many to make this thing work. |
