I would imagine any kind of taxi squad would probably be subject to the same cap rules as players loaned to the AHL. So even if a team could put an expensive vet on the "taxi squad," they'd only get ~$1 million in cap relief. - Sven22

Taxi squad is a seperate issue than roster expansion. |

Hey, Jeremy. I just wanted to stop by and let you know that you always do a great job blogging here. I'm a Habs fan, but I read your blog any time I see a new post simply because you always create an interesting read, even if it's about Wings stuff that I'm not particularly privy too.
Keep up the good work! |

If I could clone Stuart....a lefty who could play the right side well and was a defensive dman. Really miss that dude - Jeremy Laura
No offense to Stuart but i think cloning Nick Lidstrom would be a much better move
While you are at it, get one of Datsyuk and Hasek and for good measure maybe even Scotty Bowman...that would fix a lot of the Wings problems |

I think I might even settle for having the original Lidstrom back. He's only 50!
Also Datsyuk's having a pretty good year in the KHL. Slowed a bit after a hot start (and he might be hurt? not sure) but he's got 24 points in 27 games. That's roughly a 60-point pace per 82 games in NHL terms. |

Yeah i think Lidstrom could easily make the defense better even at his age. Datsyuk would also probably be a better option for 2nd line center than anything the Wings have right now. |

I think there's almost no question a healthy Datsyuk would still be a legit 2C or at the very least an extremely good 3C on a contender if he were back in the NHL.
I mean, it's moot because he's not coming back. But the guy can still play. |
