I wouldnt be upset if they signed Hamonic back if he is cheap, but would prefer they didnt . I would keep the tendie tandem we have. Super solid with Markstom and Big Dave in the pipes.
Big year for Bennett, time to show that the playoffs were the real Sam. Im expecting a solid year from him....hopefully |

If there is a trade market for Rittich then by all means trade him and free up the cash for whatever! Signing Markstrom clearly signaled his days as a Flame are numbered. He is too hot and cold to rely on and his puck handling is down right SCARY!
If Hamonic will sign for 1 year x 1 million he is good value as a 3rd pair right shot D man. |

On a 1 year, 800K contract, sure, why not.
Anything more than that could be serious wasted money.
Signing Hamonic surely signals the end of Kylington's sejour in Calgary. |

Hanifin for Montour... if you have to expand the deal to involve the goaltenders, then let’s do it! Get it done before the quarantining has to take place for the players. |

Agreed a 1 year 1 mill deal would be a steal for Hamonic. But my question is...he opted out of the bubble playoffs because of Covid back in the summer when provinces were getting only 10-50 cases per day. What makes it so much safer when provinces are hitting 1800-2000 new cases per day? Not that I hold anything against Hammy putting family over hockey, but fck sakes, the optics of this have me scratching my head. |

Dude why would we move a young D locked in at a reasonable contract for 4 more years for a UFA in 1 year?? Sabres would have to add a significant piece.

We will find a much better fit elsewhere so give it up! |

I mean how long can he sit out and not lose what he has left?

I am thinking Hamonic would be down to play because the vaccine is out. Does anyone know if they will be giving kids the same vaccine? |

I’d be careful trading Rittich with Markstrom’s injury history. |

True but I think Hammy has made what $27-$28 million during his career so far. Maybe time to retire & maybe get into coaching or front office/management. |

Especially with the condensed schedule and the Flames propensity to suck ass coming out of the gates. |

Vaccine right not is limited & even this Pfizer on takes 2 doses & a month to have any effect. I have heard the Moderno vaccine, which hasnt been approved yet, takes 3 months to be effective. Today i heard of reports to the WHO of another strain of Covid.
If Covid was a concern before at 2 digit of new cases per day, not sure how its any better now. Kids are not in a high risk group so I doubt they would get vaccinated before front line & nursing homes |

Trade Rittich, sign Hamonic 1 x $1.5M and why not use Domingue as the back-up?? |

For what it's worth, Montour has actually averaged a slightly better point per game pace than Hanifin. It's also about giving the Flames salary cap breathing room, as the cap is going to be locked in place for the next couple of seasons. Montour's cap hit is $1 mil less and the Flames wouldn't be married to him, if they didn't want to extend him after this season. Hanifin hasn't been worth his contract. If he wasn't close with Eichel and LHD, then I wouldn't even be suggesting this as a Sabres fan.

Retire maybe but moving into a management position still puts you in the c zone.
I don’t know why Hammy would sign a low value contract to risk anything.
I’d like to actually see what Kylington can do on the Right side before another signing.we keep signing college free agents, let’s see what 5hey got first. |

I wouldn’t be so quick to trade Rittich, there is a chance that someone gets covid and if turns out to be a goalie ,I would feel better with Dave coming in. |

I don’t know if anyone else heard this and don’t ask me for a source, cause I can’t remember. I read somewhere the NHL was considering playing 3 game series ala MLB. I like this idea, could you imagine the animosity that might come back to the regular season? Who wouldn’t want to play a 3 game series against the Oilers or Canucks or really any of the teams for that matter. If you think about it, each team plays 56 games means the Flames play all the other Canadian teams 8 or 9 times. Making it into a 3 game series makes sense even if it’s only for the $ savings.
It’s a different time right now, players won’t play in the bubble again, this might be a good alternative. |

That might finally give Alberta and Quebec a reason to dislike one another. Might be the end of Canada! |

I think even if it was a 2 game series that made more sense.players would take off for a 2 week road trip then home for 2
Could actually take away the boredom of only playing 25% of the league |
