Laine would look good in Leaf colours with possibly Rielly and a pick going the other way. You can’t have too many ten mil forwards on your team. : )

Laine is not a good fit in NJ, yes the goal scoring treat is there but the price for him would be way to high and will he sign long term in NJ? Also he is not much of a 2 way player. We need solid young d-men for our young offense to build around.

Looks like King Henry is out for the season. Maybe he tried commuting a couple of times from his Manhattan condo to DC and decided it was too long of a journey. So in the end, he did chose the convenience factor.

Steen was a great guy to have on your team.

I really didn't like that deal when it happened, the Blues were desperate for a puck moving defenseman at the time and Carlo Colaiacovo was the main piece. I didn't like the Steen portion of the deal, thinking they gave up too much in Stempniak.

I was a wrong as I've ever been about anything. Love the guy.

When the trade happened I didn't like it for the same reason, but the other side of the coin. I thought giving up Steen was too much, in that they were giving up on him too soon. It worked out for him though, he eventually went on to win a cup!
