There is a price being paid one way or another by people, economically, socially and health wise.
I think the mask inside, better hygiene protocols, etc... are great and are something other cultures(Japan) that aren't as selfish as ours have done for generations.
I think we need to put more effort, time and money into caring for those sick in private care homes, considering that's where all the deaths outside of 2 have occurred.
I also wish they'd provide better stats, right now it's nigh on impossible to actually find the true numbers. Iceland has published some but most jurisdictions have not, in fact most jurisdictions obsuficate the data by rolling OD, suicides, car accidents etc... into covid deaths which prevents the actual numbers from being knows.
Not a denier, if they want to stop the pushback they should quit making it so difficult to find out the truths.
How are you doing? Seemed to kick the poop out of you for a few days. - Pres.cup
The fever is gone, huge lack of energy, I've lost my sense of taste and smell, don't have an appetite. I've been drinking lots of fluids and sleeping about 12 hours a day. The CDC called me yesterday to follow up and said I can leave the house tomorrow if I want. It's really hard to explain how devastating this can be, but trust me, when you get it you'll understand really quick. |

The best storyline will be when the puck finally drops on a normal 82 game season.

The fact that Dr Bonnie stated, last Wednesday, that only 2 people have died outside of care homes during the pandemic is alarming. Even more alarming is the fact that some people don't even think that's very alarming.... I know when I re state that fact, people turn to me like I'm a conspiracy theorist virus denier, despite the fact that Dr Bonnie said it on TV last Wednesday.
Bunch of sheep want to be soon fed their critical thinking.
And again, the virus is real, it is dangerous, I don't want to get it, but it's really only super deadly to a segment of our population that's disenfranchised and stuck in a bad situation that we seem to just want to ignore. - Pres.cup
The issue is that it is still deadly to young people with issues they can generally live well into their 80's with. Healthy people are getting heart disease, lung issues, strokes, etc. This next part is not at your(I think)
Whoever said this is just a flu... That is like saying Beagle is just as good at producing points as McDavid. Give your head a shake. |

Just a flu huh? This is a classic example of why we're here today. Like the dumb fuk cowboys that came to the Okanagan during the summer and mocked the protocols, and jet ski'ed on the lakes during a huge wildfire while water bombers were trying to do their jobs. Do you not see a problem here? I wasn't as careful as I could have been, and paid a steep price which you would never understand unless you've walked in the shoes of the less fortunate ones. - VanHockeyGuy
I'm sorry you have 'covid'. Bunch of us had it last spring as well and we went home for 14 days followed what was asked and were just fine. Affects people differently. Most people already have underlying ailments that 'covid' attacks. is what it is.
Funny thing is how you BC types love to deflect it all to Albertans to cover your own inadequacies. When we were in Van in August lots of guidelines were being followed and it actually looked like a 'virus' was happening. When we got to the Okanagan it was business as usual if you looked around it was like nothing was happening...which was a good thing IMO. And 90% of it was you 'BC types' not following rules, masks, distancing what have you it was completely normal other than the Casinos being closed lol. For you to deflect all that to Alberta 'cowboys' is also part of the problem if you get my meaning. Not trying to start a giant debate here but look inwards instead of trying to inflict blame all the time.
I don't view this the way you do and you need to respect that even if it makes you blood boil. The actions being taken are not good and this can't continue long-term or we are all screwed. Financially and physically.
And on the forest fire thing in BC...look inwards. Authorities noted a few years back that the majority of those fires are deliberately set (like in California) by the eco terrorists and the whiners trying to push the climate change bukllsh*it agendas. Why should Albertans or other folks worry about that and what we can't control? Really? You're going to whine about people water-skiing lol...
Bottom line is I am super glad you are ok but you need to acknowledge that people view this differently than you..and it really isn't all about you...

Teams will have learned from last time. (maybe)
Francis got Carolina a pretty good core of players through the draft. A smart player he was, drafts the same way.
Drafting takes time though. - manvanfan
I agree. GM's should be a little wiser this time around. Also, I'm not sure how scouting fringe players is going to work with a heavy schedule, and massive questions about how the AHL is going to function, with possible taxi squads.
Many important variables have changed since the last E-draft. |

So many
I wonder if the amount of games needed will be altered missing 26 games this season.
I think what we doesn't really come to mind for us, mentioned before by scouts and GM's is that it's not a 1 year thing. Ron has been scouting his team for a year already at least.
He most likely has 3-4 possible teams. This year is probably just to confirm and make a few changes after other teams make changes. |

Well you said "you want picks" , I was just giving Lefty a scenario how JB could make use of 14 picks if he had them. - manvanfan
When JB was finishing bottom three was the time to hoard picks, not now when the team is somewhat competitive. |

Teams are in way more cap trouble than last time which puts the Kraken in a flexible spot depending on how they balance money vs talent while acquiring futures. |

Water under the bridge but he should’ve been picking at least ten times per draft for about three years in a row. |

Thats a very big variable.
Thats probably is where the business for them will be done over the not picking such a player. |

I have to confess I’m one of the worst in here for piling on the Albertans as I’ve seen a lot of entitlement but that being said, I don’t agree with the sentiment that the Covid spike is all there fault. The Alberta economy has already been decimated and these lockdowns, which have proven largely ineffective, are just making things worse. I think the Feds could have spent some of those billions in a much more efficient way rather than trying to play Robin Hood with the taxpayers money. |

I'm recovering from knee surgery right now, don't want it.
I've had Norwalk and imagine it's similarly devastating.
My push for better stats to be released and for a more targeted approach isn't because I don't think it's real, it's because I think it's being sensationalized. I didn't know about there only being 2 deaths outside of long term care homes until yesterday and that astounds me.
I'm glad you're feeling better and can leave the house soon, at least you won't need to get the experimental vaccine.
small victories! |

It's much more virulent then the flu. Beagle is an elite 50 foot player....
I just wish they'd release the actual data, the way it's hidden makes me skeptical of what they say it does. 5 cases a day on the island and yet their locked down. If the authorities weren't lazy they could actually target the outbreak locations and relax spots where there wasn't outbreaks. One size fits all doesn't work and disproportionately negativity effects the working poor.
Not to mention the long term negative mental health aspects, rising drug use, suicides, spousal abuse, etc... that have been shown to occur as a result. If I was a conspiracy theorist I'd suggest that they want us discombobulated, afraid and socially exasperated do that we'd accept anything to end it, like the vaccine.... but I'm not and think that's just a coincidence. |
