IF they all took the same strict measures IT 100% would have been corralled much more than it has been. The states that didn't take it seriously are a big part of why we are where we're at right now.

Canada's been a media darling, shut down its borders, and imposed stricter and longer lockdowns than the United States. They're still having problems. Same goes for Germany. You can argue that they're in a better position than the US, but the fact of the matter is the numbers have got worse, not better, everywhere. Why? Because that's how viruses work.

I see it almost every time I go to a store and they NEVER get approached by store staff over it. When I was in NY and now in OH.
- 3rd GM's the charm

Not doubting you, but I'm floored when I hear this. No joke, I haven't seen someone inside any store in 6 months without a mask. I've got antibodies, so I've been pretty active since May or June. Literally not one.

The Sabres are clearly screwed in this new alignment...

Yes. He is.

But if they were there to micro dose so they can stay sane it would be ok. Got it

Same here, minus the antibodies. Even the people who think masks are useless are wearing them in stores because getting in and out, and going about their own business is far more important to them than grandstanding.

i didn't really judge what he did with his little gathering...but i will say that, because this virus can spread asymptomatically, there was some risk involved...

to your broader point, I am of the opinion that people really aren't using their brains, which would be a choice to follow logic and the dictates of those with decades of experience in epidemiology or any other closely related sciences...many have been preyed upon to elicit extreme emotion, which is in direct contrast to logic

Each has there point which could be right or wrong. But im not for shaming someone for making a decision involving consenting adults. Thats how this got started....

Different states and countries took different approaches to this thing. Some were more stringent. Others were more lax. The virus eventually took its toll in every single one of them. The only difference has been the speed at which it's made its way through the population. Once it hit our shores, the question was never "if", it was always "when".
- buffalofan19

the King of Sweden, a country who let it ride towards herd immunity, blasted a "failed coronavirus" response--“I think we have failed. We have a large number who have died, and that is terrible.”

and they're now doing what people over here have been complaining about:

As the second wave struck, however, the public health agency and government issued tougher rules, banning alcohol sales after 10pm, reducing public gatherings from 50 to eight people, and switching high schools to online teaching.

People have also been told to avoid public transport and crowded stores, limit social interactions to single households or people already in regular contact, and not go to the gym, library, shopping centres or other public places.

canada's 13,511 cases/million rank 87th in the world (U.S. is 7th at 55,116) and their deaths/million rank 52nd (377) while the U.S. ranks 12th with 979

How convenient for Tampa.

TB's cap issues may be solved by LTIR. There is word Nikita Kucherov is battling an injury that may keep him out awhile. No comment from team/agent, so details are sketchy -- but clarity expected this week. If unable to play (unfortunately), it will clear room for the Lightning.

Uh huh, right. They are in a division they are going to steamroll and don't need Kucherov.

This is obnoxiously convenient and deserves all the scrutiny it will get.

i get your approach, i really do...but in a pandemic the actions of those consenting adults could have broader consequences far beyond them when asymptomatic spread is involved...this is what the medical community has been saying for nine months...

i hate staying home most of the time outside of work...I've spent more time in bars either working in them or drinking in them than any other single place in my life...but i've decided to sit this out for the most part (I have and will continue to pound some Crown in a very brief visit to a local tavern, on occasion)

We have by far and away the worst cases other than Brazil and "Gi-nah" oh my god you cannot be this dense? The whole point is that no one in America took this seriously and we got hit the WORST.

From Peter King on stability in the Bills organization:

“One thing we discussed in that interview (w/the Pegulas) was how many head coaches, how many GMs, had been through here? said [Brandon Beane], ‘You just bought the team. This is not on you. But every time we turn over the coach, every time we turn over the GM, we’re doing Coach Belichick and his great staff a favor. Every AFC East team that churns their head coach and GM over, that’s doing him a favor because stability is so important.’ Look at the teams that constantly win: New England, Pittsburgh, New Orleans, Green Bay. Stability was the number one, most important thing to me—stability and then just drafting, and staying true to the culture we’d try to build and foster.”

Could the Sabres put Okposo on the taxi squad, he would get his money but wouldn't count against the cap.

There's no way the league allows that. That's way too easy for every team to "bury" a contract.

He's right, but it's also a chicken/egg scenario. They turned over personell because they sucked. We could have stuck with Rex and Whaley for the sake of continuity but that wouldn't be the right move. Or for that matter McDermott could have not fired his OC from the first year and not hired Daboll. Good organizations are stable because they're good and they're also good because they're stable. Stability is only good if the people are worth having

I think Marrone quiting after a 9-7 season was my Bills low point of the drought. Sabres I would reaaaalllly have to work hard to pick only one

Sabres drought low points:

Garden Gloves rolston
LaFontaine quitting or fired or whatever
Disco benching Reinhart
Disco scratching mccabe the night he was named "unsung hero" at fan night
ROR losing his love for the game
"Meaningful Games in March"
Frolik
Missing by one point

I'm sure I'm missing some but those are quality low points. Housley's entire poopty second year

I was wondering, cause I really haven't read anything that says you can't with the return to play.
