Weird how the Steelers have lost 3 straight since Roethlisberger has turned to poop.

Even with that elite D

Nope, Big Ben has been brutal all year.

Losing Bud Dupree and Devin Bush has hurt their elite defence and they haven’t been able to run the ball.

They were able to get Snell involved in the 2nd half but it was too late.

Uh, no. He was being talked about as an MVP candidate up until about week 10.

They were top 5 in PPG with no rushing attack

Big Ben has been one of the worst starting QB’s in the league this year by both Quarter Back rating and passing efficiency.

So because they beat a bunch of inferior opponents throwing 40+ times a game, 30 of those within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage I’m supposed to be impressed ?

Ben has not been good all year. The injuries on defence and the lack of running game since week 8 is the reason why the Steelers have been ripe for the picking all year.

And couldn’t beat an inferior opponent tonight because Roethlisberger has been horrific the past 3 weeks.

You can compare the last three weeks to the first 11. It’s night and day and the reason they’ve lost 3 straight

His pick 6 against the Bills was the turning point in the game

Are you seriously going to argue his play isn’t the reason they’ve lost these three games because 100% of Steelers fans would disagree

And I’d argue if they were able to be as balanced as they were on offence as they were in the 2nd half of tonight’s game they would have won those games.

With as bad as Pittsburgh has been the last few weeks they can still be a threat in the playoffs if they play their remaining however many quarters they have left on offence the way they did in the 2nd half of tonight’s game.

And I’d argue that they were 11-0 with their QB playing competently

For the past few years I’ve been saying you can win in this league with competent (average) QB play, a strong running game, and a strong defence.

I’m glad that endless hours of conversing and ink have gotten us right back to the beginning.

Big Ben has not been elite all year. He had a few games where he had elite performances sure but for the most part he’s been average.

The past few weeks he has been below average. However, the Steelers would have won those games, or at least have been in a better position to win those games, with the production they got from Snell in the run game in the 2nd half of tonight’s game. When you can keep a defence honest and on their heels with a balanced attack they aren’t just charging up the field against the short passing game. It also forces defences to honour the running game and opens up the play action deep shots that is sorely lacking from their offence at the moment

Now if the Steelers find a way somehow to win the SB the narrative will change back to the “he’s a hall of fame QB” and was elite from 2007-2018 and that’s why the Steelers won despite him being average at best in the 2020 season. (As well as the 2005 season)

And we’ll get to run around that hamster wheel again how 77% of QB’s to win a SB are in the hall of fame despite myself providing several instances of those said QB’s winning Super Bowls in average statistical seasons on the backs of strong defences and great running games.

Eric Staal was an elite Center in this league from 2005-2018 for the most part and could very well make the HOF so if he averages 0.5 points per game this year and the Sabres happen to make the playoffs because we get a semblance of secondary scoring I guess we owe it to the fact that we have a future HOF’er on the 2nd line who had an average 2C season

5’-11” on skates? Pecs was one of my favorite Sabres. (IMO) being a solid two way center is probably the hardest role in hockey. You need skill, IQ and a motor that doesn’t stop. The work it takes to be defensively responsible and then still be able to jump into the flow offensively is completely under appreciated. IMO. Jack is very close to being one of those centers.

Yup. So in a perfect world ..... we beat the patriots and get the 2nd seed.

Then rest all the starters vs the fins

You literally went to a gym before you had them over. End of conversation. No one is acting crazy here, except maybe all of the people saying "take care of your own business" and still shrugging this thing off.

Me saying take care of your own business is not shrugging this off. This is me, doing everything I can do. Cannot worry about anyone but yourself. If you wish to OD on your anxiety, you do so. I will take care of my world.

So the Bills would have the tie breaker with Browns if the Browns win out (Browns play pitt week 17). If the Bills beat NE, they could rest their starters week 17 against the Dolphins, lose and get the 2 seed. That's pretty ideal and probably likely
