Seems smart.
I mentioned about a week ago it would be wise for most teams to carry a 20 man roster. The taxi squad is right there if you need to bring them up.
I would still consider actually sending Loui and Sven to Utica. See if it entices them to use the opt out option where they still get paid. - VANTEL
The 7 non-playoff teams players have until Dec.24th to elect that option, the rest of the teams players have until Dec. 27th to make that option. |

I think you could see some names like Tyler Johnson , Blake Coleman . I think lots of teams will try to save money. - VANTEL
You would need cap space to take advantage of that. |

If you a running a 20 man roster that is 3. 3 mil off the Cap.
For the record I am not interested in him. I would be interested inHamonic at 1.5 mil |

I thought we were talking about picking up someone off waivers. Seems funny to send players down to save cap space to fill that space with a waiver claim. |

I don’t think Glames fans think much of Harmsey, but I’m not sure. |

I threw out two names as an example . I am not interested in either one maybe Benning is . Is there someone I will be interested in ? Let's see who goes on waivers.
I would start considering that Ferland who had 4 conclusions last year ( the last one was caused by the breeze of people skating) will be on LTIR . When the GM was asked if he was ready he gave a definitive no.
I know a few of you are stuck on this cap issue but as you know I am not one of them. They have the flexibility to take on a five million dollar player . Will they ? Probably no. |

I would argue it’s one concussion, but same same. Your new avatar is very confusing, you “look” like Lefty.
Edit: re Ferland - I don’t think he will play, but I think he wants to play, for whatever that’s worth. |

He played 14 games last year . He may want to play but I would think Benning would go the route that Gillis took with Manny.
I don't think it is an issue they will probably announce within the next month LTIR. |

Can Utica sign some of the Canucks reserve list players to contracts, such as Carson Focht Arvid Costmar Ethan Keppen etc. Or do they need to sign contracts with Canucks?

You know the Canuck season is just around the corner when some fans start to get excited about the waiver wire. You can't make this sh*t up. |

They will probably be in the market for another defenseman with actual NHL experience. Waiver wire could be their option. |

I don’t think a single team will assign a player to the AHL before NHL training camp even begins. |

AhL is scheduled to start afterwards anyways, so that would make sense, although, with the players I was suggesting, some of them wouldn't be going to camp anyways, as they are playing in Europe.

I believe players were (are) allowed to sign AHL deals, but they wouldn’t be eligible to stay with the team (taxi). |

That would be fine, as these players aren't close to being nhl calibre, at least not yet. |

TB's cap issues may be solved by LTIR. There is word Nikita Kucherov is battling an injury that may keep him out awhile. No comment from team/agent, so details are sketchy -- but clarity expected this week. If unable to play (unfortunately), it will clear room for the Lightning.

Freidman saying TB is putting Kucherov on LTIR with mysterious injury that will free up their cap problem. Huh
