I think you’re wrong, which is nothing new. The actual ice surfaces are generally the same, but viewing angles depend on architecture. The old Memorial Arena in Victoria was terrible, with large concrete columns in the way. The Saddle Dome is terrible if you are sitting in the upper level because the roof slopes low in the middle. I was there watching a Canuck game and basically had to watch on a monitor because I couldn’t see most of the ice. So stupid. - 1970vintage
Unfortunately I can't find anywhere that gives specific numbers for individual rinks.
I saw the canucks plays in the saddle dome back in 2008, sat in the last row. I could see just fine then.
Maybe your eyes are bad, that would explain why you think Barrie is a top 4 D.

200 X 85 is the regulation sized playing surface. Even local community rinks are that size, although some can be slightly larger. - YeOldTimer
There’s an Olympic size rink just south of Nanaimo on the Island in Chemanius! We’ve had minor hockey tournaments there over the years. |

Perhaps you didn’t see it, because it was after Carol posted the link, but I’ve already addressed Mr. Barrie. You would have been quoting something to justify his spot on the team had he been acquired via trade or signed as a FA. |

Just asked buddy who managers events for the keystone arena in Brandon and he said "no" to it being 200x85. He's not sure of the exact size though just knows it's not full size. Same with the other rinks in the keystone complex.
I would guess anything build in the last 30 years will probably be 200x85. |

I’ve played in one of Kamloops complexes with 2 rinks in the same building, one regular and one Olympic size. |

This is from the WHL rule book:
“Dimensions - The official size of the rink shall be two hundred feet (200') long and eighty-five feet (85') wide. The corners shall be rounded in the arc of a circle with a radius of twenty-eight feet (28'). See diagram on page iv preceding the table of contents.” |

There are a few Olympic-sized sheets around, including one in South Surrey that the Eagles play on. It's just a few feet wider which, for a D-man, takes a bit of an adjustment.

Read another article that said until like 1990 not even all NHL rinks were the same size. Boston, Buffalo and STL were slightly smaller. |
