We have discussed this ...they will be fine for 56 games ...then lookout
- Redmile247

Side bet? I say Markstrom is done for the year at 40 games and Tanev is gone at 25. Stakes??

It's a game of chance, sort of, for Benning. Taking the chance that kids can fill the shoes of veterans that he lets walk and still remain competitive. He did an excellent job taking advantage of the cap issues in Vegas by acquiring Schmidt, who's an upgrade on Tanev.

The biggest question, for a team that allows WAY too many shots against, is can Demko and Hotlby, who hasn't been very good for two years, carry the Canucks like Markstrom had to.

- Pacificgem

Correct. Clark did wonders for Marky here he will do the same for Holtby. Look for a bounce back.

Oh I'm sure it was a factor. Just looks chicken-sh!t for the team to invest all that time and effort into Markstrom's development and keeping injury-riddled Tanev here when he should have been traded 5 times over and they piss off for an extra 500K? Good riddance I hope Hughes and Petey light up Marky so much his fuc*cking groin pulls itself lol

I think you are reading too many violent comic books, or maybe you're living in a toxic environment? Perhaps some sensitivity training, counselling or feng shui may help.

Seasons Greetings.

One of Schmidts best qualities is how quick he gets the puck up ice as opposed to Tanev who is a great shot blocker. Truthfully I would rather have the puck up ice.

A guy like Gaudette who is on a very short leash was terrible defensively. They are and will continue to change these players out. I think CGY will have more shots against them this year than we do.

Toffoli was a great fit, a leader, a point a game guy, who wanted to play here. He's going to have a good season, book it.
- VanHockeyGuy

lol he played what...10 reg season games and 4 in the PO's and he's a great fit? Green pulled a Babcock and didn't even utilize TT properly. Too many 'maybe's' there.

So what if he has a good season in MTL? Good on him I guess.

He was decent but won't affect the team by losing him. We won big games with Leivo and Toffoli out of the lineup which I'm sure MNGT saw as a factor whether we should keep them here or not. Losing Tanev and Stecher only helped us as well considering what we replaced them with. Only anomaly is can the Holtby/Demko combo be as consistent as Marky was and I think they can.
- LordHumungous

Leivo had 7 goals 12 assists . I like the guy but really?

Counting towards some younger players rounding out their games and some chemistry built from the returning players.

I would absolutely love it if Podkolzin comes in and hits the ice running like Boeser did, same goes for Hoglander, who I really hope makes it...even for a really small player. That kids got drive, work ethic, puck skills, sincerely hope he makes it!!

Canucks just need Green to understand that giving the puck away at the other teams blue line isn't smart.

Canucks lead the league in rush goals last season. I know Green wants them to play fast but it's going to lead to rushes both ways or the other team having the puck much more than Van. Always going to be playing on the heels that way.

Control the puck, control the game.

I've watched both of them lots this year probably at least 15 times each. Lots of variables in how their seasons could go in the NHL but what I like is how they can both play in the corners in the ozone. Not cycle so much but the ability win the puck in the corner and play out of the corner.

That is what I seen with Podkolzen . Very strong on the boards great with puck battles. He is also very good with his passing. Needs work on his finishing . He will look very good with Bo

April?

So He would have been 17 not 18 right.

So OJ was better at a full year younger than Jurmo.

Depressing considering OJ is a bust

Why have you made 150 posts complaining about the kid in the last week? He is a 3rd round selection that was drafted a few months ago who was ranked significantly higher. He may pan out out or he may suck to early to tell. So perhaps shut the (frank) up for a bit. At least he isn’t a fat midget with a cookie addiction

Good, he should give the C to Miller, the real leader.

I liked Leivo too. Versatile winger who was strong on the walls and was just fast enough to be effective. He was a good fit for the way the Canucks are planning to play.

But he also hasn't played in a year. There's some risk his injury may prevent him from returning to his previous form. Unfortunately for him there are a lot of options capable of filling the role he plays.

I am sure we will see that debate live on

Don't you think the new Covid-19 strain may play into this? I'm pretty sure we don't know everything that's going on out there right now. Hockey is not top priority.
- VanHockeyGuy

What does this have to do with what Lefty said? I can visit family in TO tomorrow but the Canucks cant play a game while arriving on a private jet. Plus they are getting tested. While regular folks aren’t
