Yes the only point being the Canucks are likely to be challenging for a play-off spot. So if a reserve player like him or Podz don't get into a game before the NHL TDL in April they won't be play-off eligible. I don't think they changed that rule because they have the taxi-squads in.

Maybe Carol will do a deep dive into it for us in her next blog. Canucks might not be the only club with top reserve list players in KHL because of Covid disruption too.

Those KHL contracts terminate end of April but teams may be out in March during their play-offs. Timing to play games post quarantine to Canada means they need to be here before end of March to get into a game by NHL April TDL.

It will be interesting if Canucks can boost their play-off chances if Tryamkin and Podz can be added this season. They could fit under the Canuck cap and probably be on the roster elevated from taxi-squad after quarantine and acclimation to Canucks.
