That’s not meant to be flattering to Pirri.

Friedman says that details are sketchy and LeBrun notes:

Told that Kucherov got a hip shot last week. Now apparently it’s about seeing how he reacts to it and feels. If he’s fine, then it’s all good. But if he feels discomfort? Could be LTIR. We shall see.

Was it the mayor of San Jose whom forced the Sharks to start their season in Arizona. I bet the covid is worse in Los Angeles County which encompasses both the Kings and Ducks.

Fasten your seat belts this is going to be a wacky crazy season.

It is due to enhanced COVID guidelines for sports in Santa Clara County. The Ducks are in Orange County, which is slightly less stringent (or maybe businesses just gave the state the finger), but still a crapshow overall.

LA county is easily the worst. The numbers have been quite high there for a while now. Way too many people living together in small places because the real estate is overvalued (although that may start to change with more and more large companies leaving).

I have three things.
#1. Another great blog Theo, you just keep them coming, thank you.
#2. That taxi squad that you have in your blog, ooof.
#3. With Klefborn out for the year, who are we trading to the Oilers?

- Angotti

I could see the Oilers signing Koekkoek rather than giving up assets to acquire de Haan (the most likely d-man to go).

They first have to sign Ethan Bear. They will probably have to put Klefbom on LTIR before the season, cause they are right up against the cap

It’s funny: when I see film on games before they put ads on the boards - the rink looks strangely bare and entirely too white (not a comment on the lack of diversity of the players).

I actually prefer the ads on the boards - ads some color, breaks up the “snow white-out” landscape.

Don’t think I’ll feel the same about ads on the uniforms....

- StLBravesFan

I have exactly the same thoughts when I see highlights of games played prior to the use of ads on the boards. I hated it when they were introduced but it seems normal and, quite frankly, professional. Pure white board look too amateurish today.

I do not look forward to ads on the uniforms. But I think we will be seeing it much sooner than we would like. Having said that, my only thoughts are they are done so that the team logos and associated accoutrements still hold the priority place on the uniforms.

What about when the plexiglass above the boards was like 1/2 the height it is now, no glass in front of the penalty boxes, no separate penalty boxes. And no goal songs.!!

I pride myself in being able to say I started when there was chain link type fence on the outside of the glass because the early glass broke in killer chucks...

What about when the plexiglas was a chain link fence - not in front of the glass (as Wiz recalls) but by itself?

I remember that from my St. Louis days at The Arena.

Dan Kelly, great hockey play-by-play guy.
And then the Arena became the Checkerdome.

The old Hockey Scoreboard with the big round yellow clock at Chicago Stadium was the best and copied by all those home hockey games with the metal men at the end of spinning rods. We would curve the metal sticks and shoot the puck out of the stadium halfway down the hallway. Those were real toys!

Two oxen dragging it around the rink.

Made quite a mess when their crap went under the ice scraper.
