The old Hockey Scoreboard with the big round yellow clock at Chicago Stadium was the best and copied by all those home hockey games with the metal men at the end of spinning rods. We would curve the metal sticks and shoot the puck out of the stadium halfway down the hallway. Those were real toys!

Don’t forget the smaller penalty clocks.

They look stupid?

I’ll never buy another piece of team branded anything if they go down that road, and I may never watch another game.

Raising the salary cap won’t make teams any better either, it will just let the superstars make more money.

Plenty of soccer fans buy team unis with a corporate logo on the center/front, where a crest or team logo should go. Last time I looked, the Premier League wasn't doing too badly.

It's all what you get used to. People were adamantly against ads on the boards when they started. BTW, helmets have always had a corporate logo on them, put there by the company that sold/manufactured the helmet.

There was no "delay of game" penalty in home hockey.

Was the Zamboni coal fired?
- Rota's Rooter

I remember when the one Zamboni the Hawks had at the old barn (before the league mandated 2 at each arena) at the time broke down, and they would send a couple of the ice crew members out with a little ice machine and pushed it around to make ice between periods.
