Anthony Travalgia: Are the Bruins still exploring outside options to bolster defense? With the NHL season weeks away, are the Bruins still looking to bolster their blueline?

Without the bubble protection will Tuukka Rask be back? Or Are Burins filling that hole in case he leaves again?

All indications to date from both he and the team are that he's back. There's not much NHL-ready depth behind Halak, so that leads me to believe they believe he will be back.

Well I guess this is where the Taxi squad will be handy, if players leave because of C-19 and not an injury.

Yep, Tuuka needs to be traded! would be nice to do a 3 way with the Yotes and the Avs.

Grubauer and Boston's 3rd to Yotes, Tuuka ($1M retained) to Avs, Kuemper and Timmons to Bruins,

No thanks...Tuukka will be re-signed for 2-3 years at a reasonable rate and I'm fine with that.

If a legit hockey trade were out there I believe the Flames would consider moving Hanifin and giving Valimaki his 2nd pair LD role on the Flames. There have been rumors linking Hanifin to BOS so wondering what Bruin fan thinks about that and what they might offer in return in such a deal?

Oilers could use Hanifin now

Heard about a package involving Kase and Lauzon. I think the B’s need to add more but that’s a nice place to start to me

I'd prefer Kase and Vaak. If they need to sweeten the pot throw in Ritchie...he would come in handy for the Flames/Oilers games

If you look at the bruins roster correctly they have about $4.5m in cap space. Plus if they sign someone a current roster player could be sent down.

Are you saying Capfriendly (and all the other pundits) aren't looking at it correctly since they all pretty much say just shy of $3M.

Or are you forgetting about the $1.5M in retained salary for Backes?

I think Calgary would roll with Hanifin rather than moving him for an injury prone Kase.

I thought the same thing but the Calgary thread didn’t seem too worried about losing Hanifin. They don’t seem too impressed with him

sign chara and rotate in some youth every so often and address any needs or trades at deadline

That's probably the plan. All depends on Chara.
