Public health is more important than professional sports.

I guess time will tell who's more right.

Change the word "covid" to "flu" (now that there is a vaccine and therapy's) and this all seems kinda silly.

Its pretty silly to rail on someone for possibly spreading the flu.

Before you say 'm dumb, look up flu fatality's.

We have the tools for normality, lets do this.

Shhhh....

You're being sensible, that'll ruin the narrative....

So 25 hockey players isolate together on a regular basis compared to church.

So say 150 people in church families or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5.

So you have 50 different families that then go off to work, go to beer league hockey, go to the shopping malls.

Do you see the difference of interaction between a hockey game with no fans and going to a public place and then dispersing into different lives.

That would be the difference here, you are so blind to think that this is my best interest. I don't advocate for my own interests unlike some here. I take a reasonable approach whether something could be done safely or not.

Then you have to be consistent across the board. Go shopping at Walmart or Costco right now and tell me there isn’t a double standard. Not here to pick a fight, it’s just doesn’t make sense and lot of obvious groups are given a free pass.

I agree, shut everything down, all of it, it isn’t fair.

Says the guy who says he should have taken more precautions.

Where was that thought process when you caught covid?

That's ridiculous, sorry but virtue signaling about the optics of nhl games happening is a little strong for cancel culture to be taken seriously.

Well personally I think your reasonable approach is in your best interests, I think Marwoods approach are in his best interests, I think my approach is in my best interests.

I agree with Vantel above about half ass measures, if I can not go to Christmas mass tonight, why are ski mountains open, after the pleas from the management of the ski mountains I think there will be heavier restrictions.

To me allowing any type of special treatment should be fair across the board, hockey is allowed under strict guidelines so should every other organization. Every other organization has tried to work within the guidelines and parameters imposed earlier and transmission levels skyrocketed. So heavier restrictions were implemented and it should be fair across the board.

Hockey can be played in the US states where they have less restrictions, doesn't have to be in Canada.

Can someone tell me what has actually shut down? Went out Christmas shopping and other than masks and a few lineups to get into stores, I didn’t notice anything that different. Shops, stores, and restaurants were all very busy but everyone was respectful, wearing masks and distancing accordingly.

I really don’t know what all the hoopla is all about.

Aside from the high number of deaths compared to a seasonal flu, there is evidence of permanent organ damage.

Also, despite the virus being in it's infancy and the extraordinary measures taken to contain it's spread it has still been a very effective killer.

Unfortunately, the best shot was at straight eradication. 4-8 weeks of pain and then it's over. Instead, we've had this long drawn out process. It would have cost less and and been better for the overall health of not only the country but the world.
