i'm no fan but the guy spends money! he has had no problems with sinking money into the team. i've heard rumours of business not going well for the family in other areas (for a few years now) but it hasn't seemed to affect his ability/desire on spending to the cap max.

i'd rather them spend a wack of dough on upgrading scouting and increasing the front office staff. i think that sort of stuff helps the team more than spending an extra 3-5 on the cap. but in a perfect world you can do both.

Green expects players to be pros & be prepared & coaching follows that. It’s the NHL not the AHL. Babysitting isn’t any coaches job. Those who are not go the AHL or Europe.

It's going to be a Sutter kind of year. No Coach is going to have the practice time to properly Coach things into players. With Sutter at least you know when he's in, he knows the job and can probably work his own way through his mistakes.

It's going to be a Sutter kind of year. No Coach is going to have the practice time to properly Coach things into players. With Sutter at least you know when he's in, he knows the job and can probably work his own way through his mistakes.

As a 3rd wheel winger he’d be fine problem it’s 3rd line atm & that line is a work in progress. Exposed against VGK & the difference from being a bubble team to a legit PO team that could be a force every year.

He's not a 3rd wheel though. He's not a set up man, he doesn't finish, he can't dig in the corners.

He scores scrappy goals. He would be awesome in the AHL

there's no way that a brand new franchise is going to cheap out. they're building a new fanbase so they aren't going to be at the bottom of the salary cap.

i don't care how much they paid or what they'll lose but i don't see a billionaire owner who's been trying to land an nhl franchise for years not have fun with his new toy (at least at the beginning.)

the owners might be losing money but it's still a new toy to them. add in the fact that they'll recoup money through a higher valuation by having a better team.

a winning team leads to more fans/excitement which leads to a higher value on the franchise. this is amplified with a brand new team. it's just cost of customer acquisition.

4th liners are a random collection of players that score scrappy goals individually but they are physical and forecheck.

Loui and Boeser are the only softer Canucks.

Sutter had a worse SAT than Gaudette.

I agree, with all the lower end forwards this team has, they should be able to put together a good 4th line. The problem with the forward group is that you have Pearson and Virtanen who should both be 3rd liners playing on the 2nd. If you slot in 2 proper top 6 fwds into those spots, the whole group falls into place.
