NBA has cancelled tonite’s OKC - Houston game because oh COVID-19 issues. This is going to be a challenging season for both indoor leagues. |

Hope you're right, that is not the way you want to start the 2021 season, i hate exhibition hockey - BetweenTheDots
The TV announcer just said no word on Dach’s injury, but it didn’t look good (I didn’t see it). |

As a fan of LFC, I am sick and tired of 2020 injuries.

Yes, this definitely boosts Strome's stock. You better believe his new agent is keeping tabs on this and will pounce to get the best deal for Strome. |

It just really sucks, a player who is a main part of the Hawks future possibly broke his (frank)ing wrist for a game that didn't mean anything. It's unbelievable, for what pride? So (frank)ing irritating and now what if it is broken and he has issues with it the rest of his career, these kids are so stupid they just don't understand what's at stake. |

Most players - almost all - don't get hurt in games / tournaments like this. Bad luck.
Besides wanting to play for their countries in international tournaments - and it's seemingly more important to hockey players (and soccer players) than players in other sports - these tournaments are good experience, playing in high-intensity games against at least good quality competition.
And - for someone like Dach - good leadership experience playing as the captain of his national team.
I have no problem with him playing in the WJC. |

Agreed. If he is lights out in this tournament, and carried it over to the NHL season, everyone would be saying how great it was that he got this experience.
As you said...bad luck! |

There is something about playing for your country. He had his agent reach out to Team Canada to help get him on the roster, so this is something he really wanted to do. Sounds like they need more x-rays so they are not sure if anything is broken. |

On a positive note, Slaggert was considered by Team USA's coach to be one of the most effective players in the last exhibition game yesterday (Darth, your boy Caufield scored twice).
Also, in the Czech Team's first game tonight, Teply has a goal. At last year's WJC, he had 5 assists in 5 games (no goals).
Teply is playing the 1st line while Krutil is on the top pair. |

Teply is getting some good looks on offense showing patience as he finds an open teammate for scoring chances. Great to see him continue being a playmaker as much as a shooter.
Krutil looks huge out there. Big body at 6'3" 200+ pounds at age 18. Skates well and takes care of his end. Good base to develop from. |

Caufield will have a much tougher time scoring goals as a professional. He is going to have to learn the art of escapability. He could look at Kane who is pretty healthy each season. Caufield can just score plain and simple but trying to be opportunistic and hanging too mucn in a crowd is going to get him bumped and bruised. Just imho |

Yea - playing in the NHL. Now he will be delaying his progress, and that can only hurt his confidence. Is it really worth it now? Was it really worth the risk? |
