The Canuck Scrooges are out in full force during the holidays I see đ
Podz current skill set will fit in really well with the current team. He needs to continue to work on his shot/finishing but that can develop over time.
He has a lot of responsibility on his Jr team and the offence will come as the tourney continues. Kid is a beast and will prove the glass half empty crowd wrong. Book it. |

Itâs funny because you say Scrooge, but the Cratchetâs describe him as a low end Jannik Hansen and youâre good with it. |

1) Yes, that was the narrative.
2) Who cares, itâs a small sample, itâs highly unlikely a D+1 player selected 10th is going to contribute to an NHL team.
3) He should probably join Utica in the spring anyway. Or maybe he comes in and plays a few games to burn a year and goes to Utica next season. - 1970vintage
D+2 year now. Time flies.
Could have 4 points in a single game against a crap team.
Podkolzin his draft year he had more points than Petey did at over a half a year younger in the World Juniors. Podz is never going to be as good as Petey, I don't think. |

Some guys really never learn to shoot all that well, doesn't mean they can't be high end contributors to the NHL.
Joe Thornton makes Stecher's Muffin look like it's coming off Shea Weber's stick.
I've never seen a Sedin shoot like Laine.
He's only 19 years old. |

JB claimed that Petey, Hughes, and Boeser were NHL ready. Excellent choices by him.
Last 3 junior players the fans claimed were ready Virtanen, McCann, Dahlen. |

I know right, it doesn't seem like he's in his D+2 season. He's quite a bit younger in his draft year though. Petey was a Nov and Podz a June. 8 months difference in age which doesn't seem like much but 8 months is a season of hockey.
Seems a lot like Miller in that his game shines a bit more with the best players. Playing with lesser players, he will still produce but he's going to maximize his capabilities playing with the best. |

Podkolzin - not overly or underly impressed with his game against the Americans, he was just ok. Hopefully he gets better offensively as the tournament goes along. Not sure who drafted that American goaltender but he wasnât good...at all!
That German kid Stutzle looked good, although he was gassed by the third period with them only having 14 skaters. I think they said he played almost 27 minutes. Canada should be able to unload on those poor German kids easily this afternoon. - LeftCoaster
I've liked watching Ponomaryov #13 for Russia. He's got some spunk and knows where to be when he doesn't have the puck. Both of his games he's been noticeable to me.

Thatâs what Ferraro call Virtanen and was shredded to pieces, I guess he was right after all. |

My expectation is low, leaving a lot of room to be pleasantly surprised. |

Heâll be fine, heâs obviously talented. His skating is not poor, heâs got some offensive skills, his greatest assets appear to be his IQ. Heâs got good vision and he thinks the game well which makes his defensive game really good. |

Didnât he get player of the game for the Russians? I tend to watch the defense more than the forwards, old habits, Shakir Mukhamadullin looked really good! Big tall smooth skating dman.

Kirsanov is a draft eligible player for Russia. Missed the draft by 4 days. He's doing the Podkolzin in the KHL this year. Played 8 in MHL, 4 in VHL, 14 in KHL.
I thought he was pretty good yesterday too. Not the same roaming that Shakir was doing yesterday but strong skater. |

Saw yesterday that McMichael looks like the #1 C for Canada now. Not saying I had him ranked 8th in the 2019 draft or anything, oops I just did. |

Costmar is #14 for Sweden and centering 2nd line.
#24 for Sweden is draft eligible. Big, strong North South skater, good shot.
Sweden going with 6 of 7 D left handed
Sweden's goalie is also Van's 3rd round pick. |

#5 D for Czech Svozil is a draft eligible D who will be in the first 2 rounds next year. Getting him mid 2nd would be a steal. |
