Too bad Germany is 6 skaters short. I like their effort & feel for them.

Well that turned into a blow out.

I was told the line for Canada is 8 against Germany. Or however you would put it.

Buddy said he was going to take Germany to cover. I don't know.

If you call a double digit blow-out “good”....
Everything the Canadian team puts on net seems to be going in.

Craig Button going on and on about how outstanding Broberg is.

Why hasn't someone come up with a mute button for when he talks about certain players. There has to be the technology by now. Like when they swear just beep it out. I should be able to pick and choose who I want to hear him talk about.

It’s called the PG censor button. Necessity was the mother of this invention 🤨

Stutzle putting Byram into the bench was the highlight of that game.

A few UFA’s to poll yes or no...

Hamonic
Vatanen
Hoffman
Your choice

Go for D depth or top 6 or neither?
I’ll start with neither & run with what we have & platoon prospects for the sprint condensed year. Accrue cap to pay bonuses.

Costmar showing well, fits the mold of the type of prospect JB has asked his scouts to look for. Smart, hard worker/gamer, overachiever. Hopefully he continues to improve. Still a long shot.

The good thing about Podz is that he doesn’t have to blow the doors off offensively his first few years in the NHL because he impacts the game in so many other ways. When all is said and done, he’ll be a 45 - 55 point player and he’ll drive play. He will add a unique element to the top six and will kill it in the playoffs.

Agreed, would role with what they have. See what the top prospects have and add at the TDL. I expect prices will actually be reasonable this year.

That’s a pretty solid take.

Onto Byfield whom I wasn’t gaga on. Not sold on him at all. He doesn’t move my needle in the slightest Imo LAK blew it passing on other players to take him. It was a great time to trade down. Stuetzle Sanderson Rossi Raymond Holtz I feel better about.

Byfield never seems to impress. He still has time to grow though.

We finally have a no 1 pair in Hughes Schmidt. Myers and Edler can lock in the 3-4 slot and we just need to round out the 5-6-7 slots which should go to some AHL hopefuls. Injuries do play a role with Edler-Myers however. Would probably need a backup for when one of them goes down as it's likely to happen.

I don’t believe putting all the eggs in one basket. Splitting them up isn’t a detriment.

PP & PK situations will shorten the bench.
Playing from behind same thing & TOI will reflect that. Defending a lead is another story. Every game situations are fluid.

I don't know if this game is worse than the CDN game but I don't think the Austrian's have had the puck in the USA end this period.

34-4 in shots.

If they can sign Hammonic to short term he's a durable vet can play solid minutes on 3rd pair. Bury Benn on taxi and as true RSD Hammonic can ease OJ into NHL play.

Rather platoon Rafferty & Chatfield in as RHD than spend more money. Benn can be the 7th D if kids falter. They need experience & to see what they have. They will make the PO’s with or without Hamonic imo. Saying we need him to help OJ isn’t much faith in a 1st rounder who‘s time is now. In game TOI lends to sitting his partner. Just not a fan of Hamonic. If signed fine if not the fine too.

I can see 3rd pair playing 12-15mins/game.
4-5mins/period is easy enough to play them situational. Early going probably more mins as the games unfold & shortened as needed in game. This season isn’t a cup run & we go as far as the current roster has or will take us. The D needs F’s to play better team D namely Gaudette’s line. Scoring wise the bottom 3-5 are inept & it’s problem to solve.

That's not what was posted. It just helps a rookie D acclimate to NHL having capable vet partner. Your version would have 2 rookie D playing together.

The other RSD will get their play time for sure in on all these back to backs and multiple games in a week season. Chatfield you keep as extra on roster and Rafferty can be taxied in. Benn taxied too with no issues if he gets picked up on waivers.

Having Hammonic can also help a raw rookie like Rathbone when he gets his shot to play as well.

#Sens have acquired Derek Stepan from #Coyotes in exchange for a 2021 2nd round pick (previously from #CBJ).
