Not sure what the debate is about, the Germans had a choice to have game changed around, they chose to go forward with it and take their lumps, so they had a better chance of winning in the remaining games.
This was from Bob yesterday.
I am sure no one likes watching or being involved in a game like that, but they will occasionally happen - Reubenkincade

This is the debate, no one likes watching or being involved and it does occasionally happen, so when it does. What can be done so it doesn't become unwatchable. |

He’s worried about the kids feelings, in 2020 everything is about not hurting anyone’s feelings |

I remember Northy getting quite upset when Canada laid a humiliating beat down on some weak beta eastern European team last year. He thought it was mean. |

If you don 't want the scores driven up don't bring more than 8 teams to the WJC, easy. |

What about an NA world team and a Euro world team to make up the last 2 teams to make 10?
Think the kids would care that they wouldn't be able to directly represent their own country or just happy to play in the tournament? |

Them not posting the score after 6 or 7 goal lead. The kids know it, it should be up there anyways. No reason for hurt feelings. Some of those kids might be professionals some day. - manvanfan
No, I’ve seen them play, none of them will play professional hockey. I think it’s mostly for the parents, who are soft. Again, the original question I posed to you was:
“Which is worse, having the game end because of a mercy rule, or losing 16-2 in full time”? To me it’s six of one half dozen of the other. |

There is a reason Brazil doesn’t send a team. There is no reason that Germany, with a population of 80+million people couldn’t have a better team if they wanted to. |

Can't say I did.
Next generation for me Gradin, Smyl, Snepsts - carsonagenic
That’s close for me. First game I went to was against the Sabres. Jere Gillis was our star rookie. |

Again, I purpose solutions that meet in the middle.
Maybe you get 9 or 10 of 12 to agree then. |
