That is correct . The other games he was not good enough to play in the NHL and was sent down. - VANTEL
So weak at C he was the Habs desperation pick for need. 1 domino helping us getting Hughes. Merci beaucoup MB magnifique |

Well must feel good to not lose 16-2 - manvanfan
Probably felt really good for the 14 guys that got bag skated for 3 periods in the first 2 games. |

I thought Germany played short again tonight still.
Ben Hutton is still a FA, he was a plus player last season in LA. Maybe the coach their taught him how to play defence |

Podkolzin was (& still is) a terrible pick at 10OA. Watching the fanbase try to convince themselves that he’s a beastly future star is so nauseating... But have at ‘er - DrChristianTroy
I haven’t seen anyone say he is a star, just that his style of play should compliment the top two centres on the Canucks. Teams need different styles to win in the playoffs. I have no problem with JV and Podz in the top six if the coaches can draw out their potential and they have a positive impact on their star line mates...can’t call him a success yet but can’t also call him a bust either

It’s not a serious question because you are a troll. Not a particularly good one, but a troll none the less. But to amuse you here’s a few:
Kevin Bieksa (5th round)
Matt Cooke (6th round)
Jannik Hansen (9th round)
Brent Sopel (6th round)
Scott Walker (5th round)
Doug Lidster (7th round)
Patrik Sundstrom (9th round)
Adrian Aucoin (5th round)
Igor Larionov (11th round)
Chris Tanev (undrafted)
Alex Burrows (undrafted)
Donald Brashear (undrafted)
Rick Rypien (undrafted)
And...
Pavel Bure (6th round) - bloatedmosquito
Was a serious question.
So no current roster players?
10 players in 50 years.
1 every 5 years.
Don’t think this is doing a fine job of developing late picks. Maybe my expectations are too high.

I just posted the most glaring examples. Lots more players that have been developed in the Canuck system that succeeded against all odds.
Current players include Adam Gaudette (round 5, 2015 draft, 120 NHL games)
Other players who recently developed with the Canucks but are no longer with the organization include:
Troy Stecher (undrafted, 286 games)
Ben Hutton (round 5, 2012 draft, 341 NHL games)
Alex Biega (round 6, 2006 draft, 228 NHL games)
The original point being that Ottawa has had some success with drafting but are nothing special when it comes to developing and definitely shouldn’t be celebrated.
I stated that even the Canucks have had success developing late picks but it shouldn’t be celebrated either because, in general, drafting and development has been pretty bad overall. |

Toews to miss the start of the season. Two centers down now. |

Both #70 Joni Jurmo and #15 Toni Utunen are in their teams' line-ups today as the 7D. This means that they are both likely to see little or no ice time in their respective teams' games this morning.
JJ is 0-0-0 -8 in 16 games.
TU is 0-1-1 -4 in 15 games |
