Toews to miss the start of the season. Two centers down now.

Tuesday afternoon, (October 20th) multiple media outlets released interviews with Blackhawks general manager Stan Bowman, detailing an alleged “rebuild” the Blackhawks are now embarking.

"But what I don’t want it to mean is we’re trying to tear this team apart and trying to bring in a whole new group of players in the next year and a half,” Bowman told ESPN in a wide-ranging interview on Monday. “But we do need to rebuild the depth of our team. We don’t have enough players, top to bottom, to compete with the top teams. We’ve got a lot of good players, we’ve got a pretty good start on the makings of a good team, but we still have a ways to go yet, and I accept that."

Sounds oddly familiar.

I did yes. The competition was so weak I decided to look for a stronger pool. I think I beat you by 60 pts or something

I love the “I accept that” comment at the end. Might as well said “reality is real” instead.

They won three Cups in six years, if I were a Blackhawk fan, I would be 100% behind a full rebuild. The Canucks have never won a Cup and I wanted a full rebuild in 2015.

I forgot Jesse Puljujarvi is coming back to the Oil after maturing and finding his game back in Finland. If both Yamamoto and Puljujarvi find their NHL game the Oilers top six doesn’t look so bad at all.

The Canadian Division is gonna be fun to watch with its parity.

Have to get in touch with Nucker, I think he’s starting up the league again. I’m on the fence as far as participating.

But you didn't want to trade the Sedins so full rebuild is misleading. Canucks should have started rebuild in 2013

My opinion, right or wrong, is you didn’t have to trade them to do a full rebuild. They managed to finish second and third last with them in the lineup so it kind of lends itself to my point.

The Sedins were the main reason they remained competitive and not drafting high , not to mention the boatload of prospects and draft picks they could have had.

Saying you wanted a full rebuild and wanting to keep the Sedins is like saying you are going on a diet and sitting down and eating a 14 pound turkey by yourself. With Gravy.

Nick will be the Habs #1 centre and Ryan is property of Hurricanes, do you mean Yamamoto?

1) they couldn’t have been moved as the had full protection and didn’t want to go anywhere.
2) teams have successfully rebuilt with long tenured older players.

I see the twins (one or both) all the time. They coach youth soccer out at UBC. They do their runs around the campus. The wife was mailing Christmas gifts couple of weeks ago and one of them was in the line up. Just regular joe’s now.
