JV isn't a complete Wiff. Not what you'd want out of a 6OA for sure, but definitely what you'd expect of a 1st round pick. Same with McCann, both still go 1st round in a redraft. OJ so far is. - Retinalz
I only say that because of the kids that were taken after him that are so much better. He’s a potential 20 goal scoring winger that can move up or down the lineup, that’s not a terrible thing. |

Even though he missed on Virtanen he could’ve had his top four picks on the team. That’s pretty good, producing four contributing NHL players. - LeftCoaster

Problem with drafting someone like JV is the other attributes he brings to the team. Physical players don't come along too often, so how long do you want to draft them? Wait too long and someone else takes them, take them too early and feel like you always missed on someone else. |

Quality over Quantity - manvanfan
Just because you kill it with one pick doesn’t mean you can ignore all the rest of the picks. To me, producing contributing NHL players is extremely important. If Elias Pettersson is the only kid who contributes from the 2017 draft it’s not a great draft in its totality, you’ve gotta be able to pick depth for your organization as well as superstars. |

Going to finally stay healthy and prove he's a quality player. |

Earlier , around free agency you and a few others said to sign Jake , that he is on pace for 20 goals . A few of you said you would prefer Jake over a long term Toffoli. It made sense.
The point I am getting at is he can't be that bad of a pick if some of the guys here preferred him to a top 6 winger.

What does Feraro think? - VANTEL
That guy has his head so far up his ass you can tell if he's farting or speaking when running his tard mouth.
I did like when in game Feraro tried to rag on Podz and at that moment the kid broke up the ice to make a good rush on goal. |

It’s a bit more in-depth than that, the biggest concern was Benning signing another declining old’ish player to a long term expensive contract that could be prohibitive in the future.
In that sense, I’d rather keep Virtanen. |

You can't ignore it but 4 mediocre players compared to 2 star players. I'm taking the 2 star players |

I agree. I think most were bang on when they said don't sign Tanev Toffoli and Markstrom long term. I like Toffoli but at two years not four.
I think Canucks made Canucks made the right choices and I think they will snap up somewhere another Schmidt or JT Miller type trade in 2021 |

If Benning ever produced two superstars in one draft I’d agree with you, that’s never happened. |

Dylan Cozens will be a top 6 player in Buffalo. Reminds me of Derrick Brassard |

Benning had a good offseason, I always thought Demko should become the starter and I was on the fence with Tanev, ultimately he found a better solution in Schmidt |

I wish that were true. Unfortunately I’m not sure if he’s lucky or good? Demko will be a #1 star goaltender, Virtanen a 20 goal scoring depth winger, McCann a good third line center and Tryamkin a good third pairing dman.....that my friend is a quality draft |

Canada's 4th line should utterly destroy just about every other 4th line in this tournament.
Most teams can't field more than 1 line left alone 4. |

Cup winner baby.
I say this in all honesty. The thing I love most about Sutter's game is how much it pisses off an entire fan base. - VANTEL
