Maybe if Jake took the game serious in his first few development years it would be applied. Boozing it up and coming to camp out of shape has not helped Jakes cause.

I wanted Boldy once Zegras went. Newhook was falling & my target for a trade down. With Boldy it was intriguing but cannot say if he would ever be top 6 so Pod was ok for me.

Simply put he doesn’t act like a pro.
This offseason work he can prove us wrong.

I'm all for skilled players but I'm not sure having a line up like the Leafs gets you very far once in matters.

Sort of like Team Sweden as well. They always have a very skilled line up. Great through round robin but not so much when it matters most.

No, he definitely isn't. I just expected a few dominant shifts and more leadership so far based on the hype.

I think most of the hype is by the desperate fans that want to believe they are better GM's than Benning is.

Poorly constructed line up agreed.
1 dimensional & the stars get paid & get the TOI but don’t cover all the bases. When CBJ can oust them & Dallas makes the finals it says much. TB they are not or even close.

These same fans pencil Podge and Hodge into the top 6 when both haven't made an impact in the leagues they play in, unless a couple highlight reel plays is considered success.

Tampa Bay had a ton of skill and was ousted the same as the Leafs by the Blue Jackets.

They added two of the best penalty killers in the game last season at the TDL. Toughness in Maroon, and Bogosian.

Couple 23 year olds come into their own this season.

They added some real key pieces

I think Brock Jake and Gauds are all on show me years. I don't know how it will turn out but I do hope it goes well. Developing talent is always better than buying it.

Then TB adjusted yes. CBJ also was & is underrated. Leafs aren’t deep throughout their line up with 40m reasons why it will continue.

I have penciled in Pods and I stand by it. His leading competition over the last two years is Loui Eriksson. Loui scored 7 goals last year. It is not a high bar to beat.
