I think Brock Jake and Gauds are all on show me years. I don't know how it will turn out but I do hope it goes well. Developing talent is always better than buying it.

Cheaper too.

I have penciled in Pods and I stand by it. His leading competition over the last two years is Loui Eriksson. Loui scored 7 goals last year. It is not a high bar to beat.
- VANTEL

I pencil Pod in as versatile anywhere in top 9. He’s not a liability which is huge. He can fit into the role needed given talent to play with. 3rd wheel who has room to shine.

What is Jake’s challenge?

He’s not a dynamic duo piece.
He doesn’t get what a 3rd wheel role is.
Impacting a game isn’t his desire.
He is a tweener til bumped if no improvement.

No, he definitely isn't. I just expected a few dominant shifts and more leadership so far based on the hype.
- Load Management

Only hype I see is how he was a bad pick. But we won't see Podz until next season. As his team probably won't get knocked out in time to get him here before TDL and out of quarantine for games.

Same conditions for Tree as well. So Canucks are going to play out the young guys in camp and maybe add one vet D. Don't expect any trades this TDL either.

To get out of your doghouse and all the others that want to pile on him. Let's see where he is at camp. There will be a lot of bodies looking to get a top 9 role.

Best outlook is SKA sucks so Pod can come over sooner & Utica is in the PO’s. Help their PO run & get himself acclimated to NA.

Tree fast becoming an after thought if not already.

I think it is more along the lines of the fans who believe all top pick prospects will make.
These same fans pencil Podge and Hodge into the top 6 when both haven't made an impact in the leagues they play in, unless a couple highlight reel plays is considered success.

- Reubenkincade

Like I said once before on this team right now whoever joins the top 6 will be bumping out JV. Not the hardest of tasks to come in and be better than him. Depending on who you ask.

Biggest misconception people think it's that by the age of 20 players should be crazy dominating any league/tournament they play in because they are high picks. Only the most elite players will do that and they do that to the tune of crazy numbers like Petey in D+1 year.

I don't think that talking about Hoglander and Podkolzin is talking about them being elite players. A lot of people have called them both complimentary top 6 players.

I'm all for skilled players but I'm not sure having a line up like the Leafs gets you very far once in matters.

Sort of like Team Sweden as well. They always have a very skilled line up. Great through round robin but not so much when it matters most.

Podz will help this teams bottom 6 immensely. Much needed...

Since EP started keeping track of KHL stats. Podkolzin's 8 points in 30 games in the u19 season is the 18th highest since 08/09 and that's in the 2nd best league in the world and we all know his usage last season.

Tree is having a great season and only signed one more season because of NHL and Canucks cap uncertainty. He'll be signed for next season with things more cleared up.

As for SKA and Auto both those teams are 3rd and 4th best in KHL so likely going past deadline for Podz and Tree. No way in hell do they bring either over from KHL to play in the cesspool that will be Utica if it even survives the season.

Yet LE can bump Boeser into the bottom 6 and ride the Horvat line. It comes down to Green in the end...

I really don't know who people think is going to play on Bo's right side? Loui Sven Jake (who can't stay on any line more than 3 games in a row) Roussel Gauds Sutter ?

Even when they had Toffoli, Brock and Toffoli got moved to to third line duties for a game or two.

Nice info thx.
As for 2nd best league in the world isn’t saying much imo. It’s a huge drop to that level. Linden Vey is a star say no more.

Do you watch KHL hockey?
I did & gave it up. It’s boring perimeter non intense hockey. It’s not a breeding ground for stars. Sooner prospects can leave the better they can develop to a much higher pace & difficulty level.

So don't draft Russians unless they come over right away? LOL don't count these young guys out they'll come over to the Canucks next season and be on the roster. Book it.

Boeser had the 4th best PPG in college over the past 15 years.

I've been looking at past u19 seasons in different leagues over the past week. It's just lists of who's who in the NHL right now 90% of it.

A lot that have similar seasons have similar NHL careers too. Purely speaking from a points view
Eichel #1 class of his own. 1.78 NCAA .95 NHL
Jaden Schwarts 1.57 NCAA .70 NHL
Clayton Keller 1.45 NCAA .67 NHL
Brock Boeser 1.43 NCAA .82 NHL
J Toews 1.35 NCAA .86 NHL
Dylan Larkin 1.34 NCAA .68
Phil Kessel 1.31 NCAA .81 NHL

Pretty close in numbers for the top group of players.

Next group includes players like JVR, Zucker and some new kids like Newhook, Zegras, Colin White, Adam Fox, Tyson Jost
