All honesty, what do you expect from a 10 oa career wise?
- manvanfan

I'm not viewing him as a 10 oa. I'm looking at the role he's been given for his team and I haven't really been impressed with the job he's doing with it so far.

I expect him to be ready and willing to work his ass off for a job next year. From there nothing is really a given. Career wise it's impossible to tell for anyone. He could take many paths as no two are the same. As mentioned, a good start would be working his ass off for the team he's playing for right now.

What hype?

I'll be happy if he picks up his socks and finishes the tournament strong.

Two reserve list players coming on cheap contracts to fill in next season's roster is hype? wow that's some reach

Draft guru JB proclaims Pod is NHL ready now. Let's see how it unfolds.

It's not impossible at all, there are probably a half dozen models out there that are quite good at predicting probably 80% of the kids.

I'm sure he is working very hard right now. Unfortunately, Podkolzin isn't a generational pick, that is going to do everything his self.

Expect a few years to develop at least then see where he can take it. Not in a rush.

Patience & let it unfold & he’ll fit in fine.

Pod is nearly done his 2yr Russian shuffle. He’s just a kid & imo ready to develop in the NHL. AHL is unlikely since it’s next season we probably get to see him in camp & stick.

More odd stats for you.

I'm not going back to tell you their junior stats but

Zibinejad took 8 seasons after being drafted 6oa to hit a PPG.
William Karlsson took 7 seasons after being drafted to hit a PPG 53oa
Kevin Fiala was almost a PPG this year. His 6th post draft season. 11oa

Improved and improved every year post draft

None of these players were players that never belonged in the NHL but weren't living up to their draft spots.

A lot more players like these guys too.

Took Mackinnon 5 years before he broke 64 points in a season. Now he's 90 plus

This is an annual event of telling ourselves our Prospects are not good enough to play in the NHL yet. Quinn Petey Brock were the last three years of hearing not ready.

Our happiest prospect has to be OJ seeing no one is talking about him

PODS two years in the KHL don't count his development will begin next year in Utica

A little time when they were 19-20 yeah.

Karlsson took a bit longer but he was a later 2nd round pick.

Mika and Fiala took a while but are more than justifying their draft positions now, after they were traded away.

This must be the source of where Ruby is high on the Habs and Carol now afraid Canucks will be in tough to beat them out for the last play-off spot.

https://www.sportsnet.ca/...ry-says-teams-depth-2021/

I still believe Canucks will be battling for 1 of the top 3 spots as long as their goaltending comes through.

JV is 24 years old now. Having him play regular top 6 minutes could see some real increased production. If he can get into the .60 range PPG. I'd be happy.

It’s an annual event some ppl are bearish all the time. Some are in the middle & a few want lots & fast. Prospect curves & skill sets vary & much too often ppl rush to decide if the bust tag is applied. Generally pessimistic & quick to criticize.

The projected second line of Suzuki Anderson and Drouin combined for 21 goals last year . That is just three more than third liner Jake Virtanen.

I’ve no doubt the points would come it’s his TOI that he pays the price on. Nobody has wanted him to play more but a crap load of ppl wish he could. He’s in his own way.

The Habs are deep but not in top end talent. A team that is difficult to get excited about.
What’s the word I’ve used for years?

I disagree about being deep but is not our problem . They have Danault listed as the top line center. I look at that as desperate not deep.

They ship out 17 goal Domi and bring in 1 goal Anderson.
