Brassard signs with Phoenix, 1 year $1.2 mil. My guess this is what Stan is offering to Strome. a qualifying offer to Strome would be about $1 mil. Perlini signed for $1.5 mil. |

I’ll admit that I’m not a huge Strome fan, however he does bring offense, and if signed he’ll be a 1C for the Hawks in 2021. This is why I’d like to see the Hawks sign him, he’ll put up points and up his trade value which is exactly what the team needs. Some players increase their production on bad teams, that’s because they are placed in a position to succeed, like more ice time, more PP time, etc. I would overpay slightly just for this scenario to come true, two years at $3M per and see you later at TDL or next offseason. |

Yes. How about Strome for Roslovic + ...just for the fun of it. - MjulQvist
That would depend on what the "+" would be and it would have to be significant. The Hawks need Strome more than they need Roslovic. I'm on board with the Hawks acquiring Roslovic, just not at that price.
I know many here have high expectations for Beaudin, but he would be the type of asset the Jets are looking for. |

I acknowledge Strome's deficiencies but I still like him and want the Hawks to keep him, probably more than many of my fellow Hawks fans ... but, I'm fully onboard with holding a hard line in negotiations. At first, after the news on Toews, I thought it gave Strome some leverage in negotiations, but after reading Stan's recent comments, I've flipped to thinking just the opposite. It sounded to me Stan was saying that we know we're going to suck this season with or without Strome so he can sit on the sidelines if that's what he chooses to do. I agree. - EbonyRaptor
I have a bigger concern, is this what is going to be like now that Danny Wirtz is running the team? He comes in they let Corey walk, not even negotiate with him. Doesn't sound like they are even negotiating with Strome, and these trade proposals are a joke. I've seen this story before, i hopeI'm wrong but goddamit you have cap space, WTF

Why spend money just to spend it? Especially when revenue is way down. |

They gave Corey a fair offer. No reason to overspend, especially a team that has other needs also. |

That's fair, i just fear they have decided what market value is, actually placing it below market value, and aren't willing to negotiate.
We'll see how this plays out but I'm getting worried with the CC move and now the Strome lack of supposed negotiations. |

Supposedly, they did make Crawford an offer.
Everyone here has been upset Stan didn't take a harder line over the years. Can't have it both ways. Tampa has always played hard ball. Bet LA wishes they had... |

Strome reached a take it or leave it point months ago. Not Stan's fault his agent quit. Rule #1, you don't negotiate with yourself. I worked in Purchasing for a large company 10 years. |

Da Windy City listed 3 potential trade packages if the Hawks look to move on from Strome:

I am intrigued by Chytil but not a fan of Eakin or Jenner - ikeane
Both players make the Hawks older when they want to be younger. |

Just because everyone else is upset doesn't mean i am, so having it both ways does not apply to me.

Interesting because it sounds like Bowman backed by Danny is drawing the line in the sand. |

Stanbo just took delivery of a large wall poster for his office. All player agents will be able to read it clearly when they come in to talk contract. It reads:
CHARA $795K; PERRY $750K; MARLEAU $700K; THORNTON $700K; SPEZZA $700K.

Difference between a business man (Wirtz), and financial guy (Bowman) running the team as opposed to a marketing (McDonough) guy.

He can offer Strome a 30% Youth premium for 1 year - that gets him to $1 million which is about what he is worth. |

LeBrun: Pierre-Luc Dubois is not in Columbus as camp approaches and remains unsigned. And now there are rumblings from a few teams around the league that Dubois may be looking for a change of scenery. Maybe wishful thinking on their part. But stay tuned on this one. |

I don't want rosovoc just because there is untapped top six upside as much as I do not want to "Bickell" in Strome and his still untapped top six ability.
Show more than one season, then you get a longer term of sign for the max years for less (a lot less than the old market) and then we can re-negotiate IF he turns into an offensive monster, scoring wise.

Now there I make a call... you thinks DuBois opens things up or whoever his wingers are?
Can they afford him?
Taser, you retiring?
(BTW, that stupid Charlie Romeliatis (sp) as much as I think he is a rookie, he asked the question that StanBo didn't answer...that seemed to point to Toews had the condition before the return to the Cup during and after...that it didn't appear AFTER hockey ended... |

Just like Corey should on that snow mobile before the real concussion injury happened. |
