Full disclosure, I don't have athletic and I didn't really read anything other than the potential totals.
Mostly because his model is always a bit off it seems. (which most models are) and he's a bit of a homer - manvanfan
Most are homers

Watched the full Russia vs Sweden game last night, very impressed with Podkolzin last night. He's a bull, very strong on the puck, good vision with an ability to process the game well while on the ice, his skating his good, needs to play like this more often. |

Brackett gave really good insight into Costmar during his draft year.
I had Costmar as a potential 5th round pick for Van up till December where he dropped off to a 7th round pick and then was replaced by Oscar Bjerlius after u18s where I thought they displayed pretty equal skill but Oscar was a bit better.
Back to Brackett, he had said about Costmar was that is was kind of tale of two seasons, they were watching him early and really liked him but his game around November took a bit of a dip and didn't really re-capture his form for the rest of the season. - manvanfan
Lars Lindgren and Thomas Gradin don't get enough credit in the scouting department. |

Micheal Ferland will not be in Vancouver for the start of the Canucks training camp.
Agent Jason Davidson : Mike is at home trying to work things through. His health is the upmost importance. We will continue to work with the #Canucks in what is best for Mike. - VANTEL
For his sake I hope he calls it a career, take your insurance money and enjoy the rest of your days......in Manitoba |

I thought even the first two games he was strong on the forecheck and his passing was still bang on but his forwards were not ready. I think his line mates are catching up finally.
He is crashing the net more now.

he is a long term project, but kid seems to have some potential. - Retinalz
The Red Wings draft pick Theodor Niederbach has had slightly better stats than Costmar in his draft year and D+1 years. Detroit took him in the 2nd round this past year.
For me, it's what I have dubbed "limbo" year for a player like him. Same as Lind's first year in the AHL. Too good for junior years but the next step is just too big at that time. Normally due to age.
Almost like a free pass if they don't produce but if they do end up producing, you probably have a talented player. |

Poor guy.
I don't believe his contract is insured, Canucks on the hook for it. |

Makes you wonder about Persson's potential now.
The CHL has been a bit lacklustre for Van's scouting staff. |

Persson is stepping up. Dimitry Z has been hot and cold but they look like the one ones to watch.

Most, if not all, of the kids in this tournament have steps to make before they could hope to have an impact at the NHL level IMO....well maybe Stutzle could jump in and have an immediate impact?
Learning the expected defensive side of the game and being consistent every night is what veterans have over most kids and why they stay in the lineup. If a coach knows what he's getting from you, you'll play over someone who's very inconsistent, even if they're more talented than you. |

I was thinking 64-68
Update
Tor 72.6
Mtl 66.4
Cgy 65.1
Edm 64
Wpg 61
Van 60.7
Ott 49.5 - manvanfan
#teamwhiner!!
Van should be right with CGY if not ahead a bit.

I think you will see both Cozens and Byram have an impact on their respective teams also.
Although in Byram's case, they can afford to shelter him a bit. |

I just read his article on The Athletic, it's just a plug and play prediction model based on three years of stats. I'm not sure it's relevant given the changes each franchise makes on a yearly basis. |

Whuddo I know but I think Cozens has a ways to go but you're right in that Byram could make the NHL in a bottom pairing role. |

For sure, the only kids that come out of here and make an NHL impact are normally the top draft eligible in the world. There isn't any in this tournament.
Wallstedt will probably be the highest drafted player in this tournament in 2021.
Green likes his vets. Feels sometimes like teams like Chi and Pit who are in serious cap trouble. Are forced to give a look to kids more than vets and it pays off more often than not. Helps who they get to play with normally but sometimes it's better to take the good with the bad to get something better in the long run. |

I predict Quinton Byfield will be in next years tournament as he's only just turned 18 and he's not an NHL ready player IMO. I think he'll play next year as a 19 year old and be one of the best kids at the tournament. |

Probably, but he was likely informed about the risk with signing him and OK'd it at the time. I doubt JB would sign such a risk(healthwise) without informed FA of everything he knew prior to the signing, and wouldn't have done it if FA said no. |
