Really curious how they manage the schedule.

The Comets don't have an ECHL team and their best players will be with the Canucks. I have a feeling we wont be seeing Comets Hockey this year.

With the taxi squads in the NHL, the AhL is either going to have a poop load of ECHL players, they have shared farm teams or they add junior league players to the rosters(provided the CHL doesn't get going)

Edit; or they don't have a season.

Does anyone really remember who was with Bossy Trotter, Gretzky Kurri, etc. You need someone that can fit the role needed for the top lines.

Thanks Carol.

I think most of the Pods debate here rages around a few misinformed people overstating that there are posters slotting him into a top 6 position without ever playing a shift for the Canucks.

Corrected. Kid has grit and skill. Likely starts on the 3rd/4th line but no reason to think he won't move up and down the line up during his first year. Seems to have all the tools to be a great puck retriever and set up guy for Bo/Petey/Miller.

From the last blog

One of the softest guys on the team (Tanev ) is gone and replaced by Schmidt. I don't believe he is soft.

Brock and Sutter are soft and they are probably playing their last year here. Stecher was on the soft side gone.

I think Canucks now have more guys on the team that will fight than they have had in the last decade. Myers Roussel Jake Mackewen JTM Bo Beagle have all answered the bell , unlike the old days where Marchand was allowed to speed bag Daniel while his twin brother watched.

Canucks don't have very many prospects. Might just loan them to other AHL teams or back to Europe.

With a full taxi squad. Canucks only need about 6 players to get elsewhere.

No, the original thought was fine. Now it's a run on sentence.

So you're basically giving him a roster spot before a single shift. I'm not. I think it's just as realistic to think he gets over here and might need more time to learn stuff like systems.

He might even need a lot more icetime than the Canucks have to learn his role and wind up taking reps in the A. No shame in it. Just not as direct of a path as others are suggesting, but just as possible at this point.

They may just keep their guys with NHL contracts in an expanded taxi squad but on paper AHL assigned. Leave them post camp training in Vancouver.

I don't know if there will be any loan options cause other clubs in Canada with AHL teams in the States may also opt out to play.

Could there be an an option B AHL Canadian division? Have it combined with CHL prospects with rights to NHL teams and extras not on taxi squad designation?

Canucks bring Podz over to go from KHL to AHL you say.... well that's what the bust narrative would love to see; but its not going to happen

Agreed.
Weird how suggesting he may not join the team or be in a top 6 role immediately, translates to calling him a bust and being a whiner. I look forward to seeing him play in the NHL when he's ready.

JB and rest of Canuck organization deems Pod ready to play in the NHL now. There is a legit debate on where he starts. That's the real facts. Could it be that you hate reality because you like to whine and troll?

JB also thought LE was a six million dollar player who would have a major impact on team success. Ended up being a huge mistake.

Do you just blindly accept JB’s opinion without forming your own? How sheepish of you.
