All I can think of looking at that roster is the movie Major League |

We should not expect Dubois gets traded. Columbus is not going to cave in and take a so so below market value offer. Dubois needs to explode or at least step up his scoring. He is rated around the league as one of the best centers. Columbus gets him one or two better linemates perhaps but Torch's defensive system and strict adherence to team defense certainly holds Dubois from breaking out.
If Chicago ever has an opportunity to acquire him, it is darn obvious we need some dman prospects to step up. That is what we have which they would want
In short I expect Columbus and Dubois will both improve. The asking price would go up. In reality I bet he is taken off the market. I do not believe he is on the market now.
Only writers looking for a story and trying to guess he is available because he is unhappy with the term of his contract...that is all there is to any story.
Dubois breaks out and especially scoring in playoffs- you know they get him signed even for big dollars
Anyone suggests a trade for him, just skip to next blog opinion because no trade of Dubois is happening. Their GM is not foolish. Yes pandemic and gate revenue is a concern but if you trade him rarely is it one top talent for another straight up. It would be shocking if he is traded. |

Well his agent was excellent, 3.5 this year 6.5 next year so if they want to keep him they'll have to at least offer a 1 year deal over $7 mil

Its a nice deal for both sides under today's conditions.
But the GM is going to have his hands full in the summer of '22 negotiating new deals for Dubois, Werenski and Seth Jones. One of those guys will probably be leaving. |

We need Lou Brown as GM instead of Stanley Blowman- nice team you are assembling— we should be back in the playoff hunt in about 25 years |

For me Zach is a tremendously tremedous dman, oh he would look great in a Blackhawks sweater, any of the 3 would. |

Should get creative or just pay out those top three as core + one of the young goaltenders. Two dmen for todays NHL and a center: i would try to win with them. Mix couple veterans and a bunch of hungry kids and see how far you go |

So Smith and Shaw are both healthy and ready to play.
I’m ok with Shaw playing (hopefully he remains healthy) but I’d rather not see Smith taking away ice time from the young forwards. |

I am cautiously optimistic about the HAWKS coming year .A young team with a nothing to lose attitude .Lot of ifs .DBC finds his scoring Goalies one steps up .Defense Seebs comes back Boqvist takes a step. Shaw remains healthy .Hope Hagle gets a shot other then that sit back and enjoy the ride . Its a short season so if the wheels fly off it will be quick .And we can all ague about who to pick with our top 5 pick ..enjoy |

Your idea is good but the fly in the ointment is going to be Seth Jones who becomes UFA at the end of his deal - he could pull $10M++ on the open market. Big market teams will be all over him to anchor their defence. |

All that plus do we have to trade Murphy or loose Carlsson in The Expansion Draft. Maybe Keith is traded after the season? Don't bet on this last notion though.. |

Well the trade deadline i think I read is in April for this abbreviated season worth of games. So because monies is tight might not find a suitor for Smith until then? |

In general I agree with you. But I want the young forwards to earn it too. With Bowman's and Colliton's intention to give young players ice time, there are only two reasons for Smith to get ice time:
1) He far outshines the younger players in camp.
2) They want to see if he can gain any trade value or interest. |

Is your phone using the same wifi as your laptop? If so your internet may be the issue, if not then i don't know I'm not having any issues |

Why is Strome contract taking so long? It really shouldn’t be too difficult. |

For the record, I don't have any substantiated info or rumors to back this up but one guess as for the hold up with Strome is that there could be a sign-and-trade in the works.
Maybe the Hawks need to ensure the contract terms fit the cap structure of the team where Strome is headed. Those terms may also dictate what assets are coming back to the Hawks.
Taking this a step further, Strome's departure would create a 3rd big hole at center so there could be another deal that needs to be made to acquire a new center who is more than just a one-year stop gap (i.e. a young center with upside) unless that new center is part of the Strome deal.
If not obtaining a new center, then the Hawks would roll with Soderberg, Wallmark, Kampf, and either Pirri, Carpenter, or Kurashev. That's not good depth no matter how you slice it. |

If you believe in quantity over quality, there is absolutely no issue up the middle of the ice:
Soderburg
Carpenter
Kampf
Shaw
Suter
Pirri
Z.Smith
Highmore
Janmark
Walmark
Kurashev
Barratt
That's depth man! |

Hey Darth, question for you. Why would you want to see Shaw in the lineup over some kids, especially with the situation now without Dach and Toews? What business does Shaw have in the line-up now?
