My version I'd take Sutter out for ZacMac. Have Suts and Beagle rotate on 4LC between games to keep them fresh. - NuckUp
You did watch Sutter in the PO's correct? ZacMac will eventually get his shot but what makes you think he could step into 3LC duties right now like Sutter?

Agree. As much as the fans hate Sutter the coach doesn't .
Finding out how the young D can score can help put to rest signing Barrie & save money. - Nighthawk
I think it will be more important to find out if the young defensemen can play defensively, the team can score goals, they just can't defend well enough.
I think most of the shiny things type fans will be disappointed when Chatfield , Sautner and Brisebois along with Juolevi, are the defense for this team and the Rathbone/Rafferty duo are sent to Utica.

Sutter will be around playing regularly, with the odd rest game. He will probably have to take over 3rd line centre duties, as they currently don't really have anyone for that position.

Look at the line up post again. Sutter is 4LRW. Gaudette is 3LC. The rotation suggestion of 4LC between Beagle and Sutter would keep them both fresh for the play-offs and less likely to fall to injury.

Gaudette says hi and he'll be happy to show you how wrong you are again.
KGBeast and Costmart (shop smart) lookin pretty OK
Lineups....hockey time.
Besides Loui to the D (Detroit or Demotion, whatever), What about Bearcheese to NYI for Ho-Sang.
Sure, Goldly, like attitude, but what do we got to lose? Kid doesn't produce for whatever team picks him up. he's fuked. Plus if it is an ego thing with the kid, if he does well, our fanbase will embrace him. If he sux, our fanbase will flush him like a turd.
He was a way over plus guy in the playoffs. Im all for replacing him, but facts are facts. - neem55
I am in favor of replacing him too. The guy did his job . He was signed to be the transition from when the Sedins retired to the time Bo was ready to step in. He got some help from Petey . Bo still thinks of him as a big influence. His time is coming to an end.

There is cap space. But good cap management is why they didn't offer term to expendable UFA's and will walk away from expiring contracts. Now that they have a young core in place they want to keep as much cap free for them and any upgrade add on core types.

lol Gaudette has potential but he hasn't solidified himself any guaranteed position in the the line up yet. There's no indication that Green will start the season with anyone but Sutter or Beagle at 3LC and 4LC as it should be. If they are beat out for a spot fine, or possibly injured. Expect Gaudette to be rotated on the wing for 3-4th line duties to start the year.

Its not the play-offs so not buying into that theory of yours for opening night roster line up. Unless Gaudette fumbles in camp book it he'll be 3LC as he was for most of last season and the one before.

Sutter has been hurt most of the past two seasons so sure Gaudette has been able to get some time in the lineup to be sure. But when Sutter is healthy Gaudette moves down the lineup as of right now is what it is man. I'm sure it won't be long before Sutter is on IR again so Gaudette will bet more TOI once that happens.

You forget in last season's camp Gaudette beat out Sutter for 3LC. It had nothing to do with his health. Your take goes back to Gaudette's rookie season for injury excuse.
As also Gaudette was a rookie to the play-offs and when he got in was playing center not RW. The learning curve is already there to displace Sutter/Beagle. That's why those old vets are best suited subbing in for each other to avoid injury.
