You forget in last season's camp Gaudette beat out Sutter for 3LC. It had nothing to do with his health. Your take goes back to Gaudette's rookie season for injury excuse.

As also Gaudette was a rookie to the play-offs and when he got in was playing center not RW. The learning curve is already there to displace Sutter/Beagle. That's why those old vets are best suited subbing in for each other to avoid injury.

Yes and Sutter put Gaudette in the press box after Gaudette played 10 PO games with 0 points lol. I'd be very happy if Gaudette emerged over Sutter sooner in this coming season...but how Sutter played in the PO's resonates with Green and Gaudette ended up surfing the press box. I'm not saying you have to like it...just telling you how it is. You are pencilling in Gaudette as the 3LC based off one decent year while Sutter was hurt. Whether you agree or not, Gaudette still needs to earn that spot while Sutter is still dressed. Is what it is.

I like what TB did. It just shows me that people shouting NO CAP SPACE really don't know what they are talking about.

He was a way over plus guy in the playoffs. Im all for replacing him, but facts are facts.

Sutter was -2 in the 2019-20 playoffs. His defensive game is much better than Gaudette’s though, which is why he had to move up to the three pivot for the playoffs.

Gaudette beat him out in the regular season because he’s much better offensively, circumstances dictate who plays where. It’s simply a matter of the coach playing who he feels gives them a better chance to win.

Sutter isn’t a better player than Gaudette and Gaudette isn’t a better player than Sutter, they just offer different skill-sets.

You know Brandon Sutter’s only played 50 playoff games in his career, and 17 were last year for Vancouver, his first playoff games as a Canuck. So over half his playoff experience was last year, just surprises me given all his time with the Penguins.

Drafted by a weak Hurricane team and 5 years with a crap Canuck team. Not a surprising stat.

Connor McDavid who is the best player in the world has played in 17 games in 5 years

Yeah I thought he was in Pittsburgh longer but he was only there three seasons, four in Carolina, he’s been on some poopty teams for nine years of his twelve year career #foundational #partoftheproblemnotthesolution

By the way, guys like Joe Sakic played five seasons for Quebec before he saw a single playoff game, same for Mario Lemieux.

Its not about liking. No offense to Sutter (pun intended) he was beat out by Gaudette because Canucks needed secondary scoring. That applied last season and later in the playoffs. It will apply again for this season too.

yes you’re right, it’s early, I was thinking 33 games with Pittsburgh 17 with Vancouver....I’m not too bright but I’m a good worker

Ok, let me re-phrase, he played half as many playoff games for Vancouver as he did for Pittsburgh and he did it all in one season. Better?

Short people get up early hoping they can measure up. You got nothing to be ashamed of math isn't a big thing.

17 divided by 50 is 34% of his playoff experience in one season, so I’m right 34% of the time, unless it’s regarding prospects, it’s usually much less
