I would assume they’d retire back in Thunder Bay as Staal’s wife is from there as well and part of a tight knit Dutch community. All their relatives are there. I assume that’s important to them?

They have a charity golf tourmanent every year there. I work with a few people that know them from Tbay, two of the brothers are Richards (not sure which ones)

Helps the NHL game if they do that.

15-16 playoff record for Sweden. Yikes. How do you go 54 games in round robin and then having a losing record in the playoffs in the same time frame.

Defenseman Erik Brannstrom had requested that Ottawa allow him to try to play his off-side on defense but that request was denied, relays TSN 1200’s Shawn Simpson (Twitter link). The Sens prefer him to stay on his natural side although there is likelier an easier path to playing time if he was to switch.

Would you draft Brian Boyle in the first round in a re-draft?

Returning to their roots, a mix of Canada & Sweden equals success, at least for them.

He was drafted 26th in the famous 2003 draft.
