Not trolling either, but it is tough to not question the make up of this Leafs team. He inherited a historically awesome rookie class and they have achieved nothing, and the team is still deeply flawed.

I can understand that mentality but Dubas should be granted the same amount of time and patience all the other NHL teams who didn't win cups with a core made up of prepubescent teenagers were in my opinion.

Building around that core takes just as long as growing them does.

They've gotten them to a point now where they have a handful of NHL seasons under their belts, and there finally looks to be a complete lineup around them. If you don't see some significant progress in the next year or two... That's on Dubas.

It's like economics, results are years behind the policy shift.

I think Leafs fans had way too high expectations 4 years ago. Their best players are 22/23.

They faced the top teams in the league in the 1st round.

Dubas also had to clean up Lou’s ridiculous contracts.

Oh I don't disagree. That is why I slammed that stupid tweet about Matthews yesterday. I have argued many times that the real issue the Leafs had was that there best players were too young.

I think the only real point is that the jury is still out on Dubas.

Dubas inherited an awesome rookie forward class as well as a historically shallow defensive class. Plus the last time the kids played they were 21-22 years old. Maybe you're a little impatient and frustrated?(rhetorical)

yeah part of the reason he had to do that was because he paid HUGE dollars to RFAs who had achieved nothing.

Are the Leafs the only team that has had to get rid of a contract. Did any other team give up a first purely to get rid of someone?

Dubas has been in charge for only a few years. He’s done a lot of good things for this team IMO.

Honestly I don’t look much into last playoffs, it was a 5 month layoff in a pandemic.

The best is yet to come with AM, Marner and Matthews.

A big test for Dubas will be to get a new starter.

He gave them long term deals over bridge deals which years 3-6 we will see if it was the right move. They absolutely save a bunch of dollars there.

No.

Maybe I am suggesting that there is reason to question him as a GM.

Being frustrated with the Leafs has little to do with Dubas. I was alive when they won the cup last. There have been many years and many reasons to be frustrated.

No I meant I was trolling.

I don't think they're deeply flawed though. I think they're super rad.

This is definitely the next big issue. I think it is the most critical test.

They’re cheaper, but not by as much as you’d think. I don’t know about the Panthers, but Tampa’s beers are not cheap. Cheaper than at the ACC, but I’m trying to recall by how much. I had too many to recall I guess

Unless you find your way to what they then called the Bud Light Party deck or something. I don’t know that it’s still there. It’s outdoors off of the balcony and has 2$ beers and 1 dollar hotdogs after the game. The beers are tiny, but what the hell.

Right, KK not Raty.

Abramov and Amirite are the only two on Russia right?

Doesn't this mean that next season is paid for?
- bobbyisno1

It does. I mean, I don’t really lose out. What is kind of frustrating is that I’ll probably start being charged for another season starting in March even though I’m already owed an entire season. If that makes sense.

Once there’s a game played in the garden for the 21-22 season I can carry forward the balance from 20-21 to start paying for the 21-22 season. The problem is, by that point I’ll have already paid for 70% of another season with zilch to show for it. First world problems for sure and not a big deal. I was just curious what other teams were doing.

What options did the Leafs give to you season ticket holders regarding the money you spent on a more or less lost season? If you don’t mind me asking of course.
- RickJames77

Do you mean 2019-20 or 2020-21?

They gave us the option of refunding the remaining 2019-20 games, but I just told them to put it on the account.

They still haven't collected a dime for 2020-21.
