I have seen this game before in junior hockey, it is called blackball this guy at all costs. I totally disagree with the old goat Lou's personal vendetta with the kid. He had to sign him cheap or face an arbitrators potential raise and now he just wants him to rot in the AHL. Had to pay him either way so lets screw him over now. The irony here is JHS has the potential to be an nhl player and a good one. Of course he would have to have grown up and that I can not say. Trade him Lou and give him a chance, stop with the head games. - joegreif17
Ho-Sang was put on waivers in September 2019. No one claimed him. |

True story but let’s keep the old man Lou is a white racist narrative going because it’s hysterical. |

Nah, Lou’s not racist.
A bit vindictive perhaps, but not racist. |

No one questioned his skills. It's his head that's the problem. Ask yourself why every team passed on him when they could have claimed him off waivers. |

Old man Lou is so racist he convinced all the other teams to pass on JHS when the Isles put him on waivers. Lou also keyed Ho-Sang's car the day after he cleared. This is a very personal vendetta to Lou. |

I don’t get this situation at all.
Saw this kid play many times in Junior. He was almost always the best player on the ice and it wasn’t close.
This includes playing against the Gens team that won the mem cup.
There’s definitely a part of this whole saga we’re all missing. - Johnnytoronto i can think of similar stories a dozen times off the top of my head; half of them seem to have been coming outta Edmonton. Robbie Schremp comes to mind immediately. Magic on the ice, but it just doesn’t translate to the pros for whatever reason save for a few helpers.
Couple that with an obvious stigma since he broke that kid’s leg, asking for a trade without much to stand on, and butting heads with Lou, and this kid was just snake bitten from the start.
Let the kid play in the KHL, SHL, SM Liiga or something, make a few bucks, and come back in a couple years with a clean slate hopefully ready to compete with the best. Puljujarvi is on the home stretch of this plan right now. I have a feeling it’ll be alright for him.
Worst case scenario? He has a happy life playing hockey for a career in an idyllic nation who doesn’t know him as a malcontent. |

IF there was something SO inexcusable that he's done, what is it and why not just release him? Buy him out? Something definitive & final. Keeping him around costs more than it does to get rid of him. Isles are paying payroll taxes, healthcare, etc. Lou didn't pick him, so there should be no pride or ego involved if they truly have no faith in him developing into an NHL'er.
Anything else is a waste of time & money and/or a spiteful move to punish him.

This definitely stinks for the NYI organization. I’m not letting JHS off for any part he’s played in this saga so far. But you can’t say that a kid is behaving immaturely and then the organization/GM then behaves such that the only likely conclusion that can be drawn is that there is a vendetta. |

Dont think this is a Rob Schrempp or Jeff Tambellini situation. His sample size-albeit small- projects to almost 40pts/82 games. Thats respectable for a young player called up infrequently from the Ahl. This is business. Put the emotions aside and move on. |
