He is not like Hansen except for the skating. Hansen was all effort but had hands of stone (got somewhat better at the end). Great role player.
Jake is big and has a great shot but lacks effort.
Totally different players. - CoolerHeads
I was going to say the same thing. Totally different styles and efforts

The tricks and hand-eye are what excites most fans about Nils Hoglander, but watching this training camp session it’s really the lateral speed that gives him a shot at making noise at this camp.
I don’t read much into what I see in drills on Day 1, but his edges are incredible.

Are there actual media personal watching the training camp live or are they watching video clips and making assumptions like the wanna be GM's and super scouts.

Yeah... They're called sports psychologists and most elite athletes and teams (across most sports) use them. 👍 |

has the advantage of playing a full training camp and half a season before coming over. hes got a good chance in a short season imo especially against guys that take up to 10reg season games to get going |

Re: contracts
Any player can negotiate a new deal or extension in the final year of their current deal for any amount within structure of the current CBA. If Boeser (and his agent) wanted to do an 8 year $24m deal when his current deal was expiring they could. Players, however, tend not to want to make less than they have in previous years, and part of the RFA rules says that in order to retain player rights a team must offer at a minimum the same $ as the final year of the current contract as a starting point to pending RFA’s. This is the “qualifying offer”.
If Troy from Richmond wanted to stay in Vancouver he (and his agent) could have negotiated a two year $4m contract extension but they didn’t because they wanted the starting point to be the $2.35m he was currently earning. They waited until the Canucks didn’t qualify him, oops, and he became an UFA. - 1970vintage
Thanks. I wasnt aware of that.

On the Russian junior team? I’d move him to the 2nd. |

Like you said, they really just have to beat out Loui, especially if he sees MacEwen/Gaud/JV as the third line. TG knows what he gets and loses having LE play the second line. If he wants to lose a little defensive advantage for more offense, then Hoglander could provide that... if he shows that, at least.
Not like he's beating out an established top 6 player |

not sure about you guys, but seeing clips of the practices, the line combos, the interviews, brings a smile to my face. Man is it awesome to see Canuck hockey back. |

This is 85% or half of my reasoning for putting him on the second line. The competition for the spot is unbelievably low.

Comets agree to play this year out of Utica. They will have St/Louis's affiliate Springfield join up with the Comets to form a full team.
There will be a Canadian division but Comets will not be part of that. 3 or 4 teams have opted out including Charlotte Checkers (Fla Panthers) |
