Interesting to note that, based on the two practice groups, neither Loui Eriksson or Jake Virtanen will start with Horvat and Pearson on Day 1 of camp. Possible candidates include MacEwen, Hoglander and Baertschi.

Comets agree to play this year out of Utica. They will have St/Louis's affiliate Springfield join up with the Comets to form a full team.

There will be a Canadian division but Comets will not be part of that. 3 or 4 teams have opted out including Charlotte Checkers (Fla Panthers)

Why do they exist? I know that Florida has 22M people but does the league really benefit that much having two teams in that state?

Ontario only has 15M people, but having the same amount of teams as FLA makes no sense to me.

Alberta has 4M people and two teams. Makes me think that Ontario is an underserved NHL market.

Maine's back up goalie started the game but was pulled after allowing 4 goals on 17 shots (Save% .765).

Matthew Thiessen finished the game allowing 5 goals on 41 shots (Save% .878).

Vitanen’s interview today made him seem at times to be obnoxiously perturbed especially when they fired the weight question at Elias.
Still needs to mature and he didn’t exactly look defined as for his conditioning.
