I think he’s talking about prophylactics, though you’ve probably never used one.

Shhh man, you're (frank)ing up my narrative, lol. Add one for 16 years...
I agree, I'm general we've been weak on picking D. But, we've only had 5 top 10 picks(I think) in 16 drafts and we've picked 3 D in those 5, I think. |

Past sixteen drafts....Edmonton's taken 3 in the top ten, Carolina 3, Florida 3, Anaheim 2, Colorado 2, etc, just for reference. - Pacificgem
Looks like we're in good company then, glad we could come to an agreement on this.
Can't believe Edmonton has also taken 3 in the top ten, although they have picked like 10 times in the top ten during those years. |

Give what you idiot? Did I troll you or anyone about prospects?
Look, you can't handle someone having a different opinion about Podkolzin. Give it a rest. If change how I feel about this prospect, it certainly wont be because you trolled people about it. Besides, I havent ragged on him.... I just don't see a top 6 offensive player like you. Now b!tch all you want about people like Marwood trolling. Look in the mirror. |

Wife is snoring and I am a very light sleeper so here I am again at 3.30.
I will stick to the top 10 bet win or lose it is probably a good thing if everyone stayed . As Rubey said it is for a good cause.
I don't think it really matters if Pods is second or third line . It is a bit of a crazy discussion and should not be an issue. I still say second and Load Management says third. Either one is fine.
Hoglander could steal second line duties this year or he could be third line . Again it doesn't matter where he ends up.
I suggest sit back and enjoy the hockey. Put the Tanev Markstrom Stecher era behind and look forward to the Schmidt Holtby Juolevi one starting. Just enjoy the hockey .
I really hope this is the year the team says Fuk You to Loui. In the past they kept him for insurance. Here is to hoping we have grown enough to kick his sorry ass to Utica. |

I think send him to Utica, not the taxi squad. Try to make things for him uncomfortable that at least he will consider quitting. I know it is a long shot but if you don't try it you never know.

From the Athletic:
Are we witnessing the end of Eriksson’s time as a Canuck?
Eriksson is renowned for coming to camp as one of the fittest players and presenting a polished, hardworking, midseason-form type of game from Day 1. He was genuinely one of the Canucks’ top 12 forwards in the return-to-play summer camp.
He was a front-runner to make the 23-man roster coming into camp, but his performance Monday could jeopardize those odds. To be frank, he was easily the most disengaged and underwhelming Day 1 performer relative to expectations.
The most telling sign was the 40s bag skate, in which he finished last among his group and looked noticeably more winded than his teammates afterward. During drills, he looked lackadaisical — in one instance, he had the net wide open on a rebound chance about a foot away from the net and flubbed the chance with two lazy backhand whacks that he fanned on.
Eriksson needs to be in tip-top shape and working his tail off if he has any aspirations of cracking the team, and this was a really poor initial showing. At age 35, he may just be completely done if he can’t turn things around from this point. |

Notes from Drance at the Athletic:
• The Hughes-Chatfield pair would seem to bolster our analysis that Hamonic makes the most sense from Vancouver’s perspective as a Chris Tanev replacement, and that’s where we’ll likely see him start when he officially puts pen to paper on a one-year deal with the club.
• If we were to continue with a depth chart exercise beyond the club’s top six defensemen, we’d get to the Jack Rathbone-Jordie Benn pair as the fourth pair and then probably to the Guillaume Brisebois-Ashton Sautner pair fifth. Then we’d move on to Josh Teves and Brogan Rafferty. That would suggest — particularly since it’s Chatfield in the spot that we assume is a Hamonic placeholder — that Rafferty is in a very tough spot to make this team.
• We can safely assume, since Benn opened camp on the right side, that Juolevi is the clear front-runner to start the season as the left-side defender on Vancouver’s third pair. Rathbone could threaten yet, but he’ll have to win out cleanly to earn that spot.
• Is Jay Beagle in danger of falling out of the opening-night lineup?
• Loui Eriksson seemed to have a tough first day. It wasn’t like at the Phase 3 summer camp, when Eriksson was in incredible shape and just dominated from the outset of camp.
• There have been rumblings behind the scenes that Tyler Motte could get a credible third-line shot this season, and it looks like that may well come to pass.
• The Canucks know the Lotto Line — probably the best line in the Western Conference last season — is their meal ticket in the all-Canadian division.
• The biggest qualifier in the “it looks like the Canucks rolled out four credible NHL lines and three credible NHL pairs” take is that Hoglander with Horvat and Pearson looks like a pure audition for Wednesday’s scrimmage. That second-line right-wing spot seems poised to be the most ferocious training camp battle.
with this as the lineup:
J.T. Miller-Elias Pettersson-Brock Boeser
Tanner Pearson-Bo Horvat-Nils Hoglander
Tyler Motte-Brandon Sutter-Jake Virtanen
Antoine Roussel-Adam Gaudette-Zack MacEwen
Alex Edler-Nate Schmidt
Quinn Hughes-Jalen Chatfield
Olli Juolevi-Tyler Myers |

Every player in camp that impresses Green will help that get closer. JV Hoglander Hawryluk MacEwen Motte Roussel can collectively make it happen. |

Did Drance not include Chatfield anywhere in his assumptions, other than a placeholder for Hamonic?
I believe the RW positions will be interchangeable, all season long.
I have found Sutter to be the best centre for Jake , that looks like a decent 3rd line. |

Did Drance mention how well Petey took Kuzma's question about his weight again? You wonder why part of the fan base is so neurotic about things, where they get the info about the team still asks questions that have been proven to not matter.
Thank goodness there is someone like Petey to tell them how stupid they are. |

Was Raffy even at practice? I haven't heard anything about him. iMac mentioned in his comments about how he thinks management doesn't think he is ready to defend at the NHL level but no one seemed to mention him even being on the ice. |

really? the one question that most of us have about petey is his size and flowing from that is his durability.
we've seen him get thrown around and knocked off the puck a lot.
it's logical to look at his weight when most of us believe that his biggest drawback is his strength.
this was an example of precisely why petey was not selected as captain. it was a normal question that gets asked of many players during the first couple days of camp every year.
the fact that he got so offended shows his personality (and it's not a bad trait for a competitive professional athlete) is not suited to be in front of the media on a daily basis which is why he isn't a good captain for today's media/public relations game. |

Ok? Well I disagree. Van media makes mountains out of mole hills, reiterated by many Canucks personnel over time. |

It wasn't a mountain out of a molehill. That is what you're doing.
A question was asked about weight. Someone got offended.
Who's the one who took it too seriously? |
