Let’s be very clear here:
Asking professional athletes about their fitness results or reporting weight as training camp opens is 100% fair game.

You’d prefer to do it off to the side, but that isn’t really possible in 2021.

The media has the right to ask the players questions and the players have the right to answer them however they want. Its all part of the business of professional sports.

Now as fans we care if Petey is getting stronger to get through a tough busy schedule. Well if you saw him he obviously looks better. So did the question have merit or could it have been phrased differently. Like from the offseason what gains in strength have you made?

As much as I hate having Lui on the team, there is an element of feelings. Who’s next, Beagle? At some point they may want to sign a guy (like say Thornton, not him specifically, but a guy near the end of his career) and he might think twice about Vancouver given their mean treatment of legendary Lui...

That is worse case scenario about the two seasons. I disagree he will be here full term because you burn an extra year of prime Bo Schmidt and JTM. I hope they pull the trigger this upcoming off season , Benning has looked into it so I hope they do it in the 2021 break.

God I hate Calgary, so bad...that said, as has been mentioned previously, it's so tight between Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg and Edmonton I'm expecting some really entertaining games.

Despite Petey's 176 pound frame he's going to contend for the Hart Trophy this year, 80+ points in only 56 games. Boeser's gonna score 25 in only 56 games. Horvat will have 40 points and get Selke consideration. Quinn Hughes is going to win the Norris Trophy.....it's gonna be a fun year to watch the young guys on the team grow!!
