Good trade for both teams:
To CBJ: Patrik Laine, Josh Morrissey, Jack Roslovic
To WPG: Pierre Luc Dubois, Zach Werenski
Franchise altering move! |

Better proposal, the Jets should trade Laine for a second pairing defenseman and a low 1st round pick say around 20th overall. Then Jets fans can go on about how they won that trade too. |

Someone made a point today about Laine for Dubois doesn’t make sense:
1: Dubois wants to play on a bigger stage. While Winnipeg is certainly a more... aggressive fanbase, nobody outside of Winnipeg would know he exists.
2: Laine would be in Tort’s doghouse immediately, and never leave until Columbus fires him. |

BW, you are missing the key piece. Chevy would have to first trade away a first round draft pick to only have it come back in the package for Laine, then and only then would it be a clear win!

Wow Ultimate that trade is terrible for the Jets, Morrisey is signed for eight years!! If Werenski doesn't want to resign with the Jets you'd have to trade him, so not worth the risk. As for the other pieces meh, I'd rather have Laine and Roslovic, they're gone eventually though unfortunately. |

And Morrissey seems to want to be here. Bought a house in Tuxedo with his g/f.

I am trying to think like the 22nd best GM (according to NHL.com) in the league. Most likely Chevelallseasonoff will do nothing as that is his typical MO and get fleeced by a top 5 GM.

Low key, if Morrissey doesn’t bounce back, his contract is one to move immediately.
Unfortunately, Werenski is also making about what he’s worth right now, so trading for him is also a mistake as his next deal will be horrible |

It appears not one NHL team wanted Dano so it looks like we are stuck with him.
Poor Marco...no one ever game him a chance except for Paul Maurice

One thing about Chevy is that over the past three seasons he sure likes his retreads.
Matt Hendricks
Paul Stastny
Eric Comrie
Marko Dano (3x)
The question is: who does he bring back next? |

Lol who claims a long term injured fringe player on waivers at the beginning of a Covid season.
He could be the next Marchessault random breakout player, and it wouldn’t make sense to put in a claim now |

Agree on Morrissey Rexypoo. People seem to have amnesia that he was not very good last year and now he's making 6.25 million for the next 8 years.

I am sure glad a few of you guys on here are not the GM of the Jets. Josh Morrissey is a perennial All-Star Defenseman or close to it. He will surely be on the next Team Canada . Furthermore, he loves being in Winnipeg and signed an 8 year favorable contract. He is the Jets #1 Defenseman on a team that has lost several key Dmen over the past year. He basically had to babysit the other Dmen most of the season.....and you guys want to trade him because he didn't have some career type year.
Pure insanity |

A: In all likelihood, Josh Morrissey is a #3 defenceman. Last season was the first time he was left to run his own pairing, and he fell off hard, especially early on. While I do think he will rebound, I doubt he’ll return to 17-18 form.
I think Morrissey is good, and can live up to his contract, but not acknowledging that he was average at best last season makes me question whether or not you’ve been paying attention.
B: He is not the #1 defenceman on the Jets at this moment in time. DeMelo is, with a possible Heinola crowning coming up shortly.
C: He was visibly worse, and making worse decisions, across the entirety of last season. We also have the ability to tell if it’s his play, or the performance of his teammates, that was dragging his numbers down. It was mostly Morrissey himself. |

Why would we ever do that. Let’s spend like 6mil for two fringe guys and a 3rd liner |
