Not if you're living on the west coast. 🤣

I consistently wonder why any sports fan continues to punish themselves by living east of Alberta.

Figure it out boys.🤦‍♂️

Best part of living on the west coast: NFL football at 10 am.

As long as York doesn’t get 3 points, Niemelä will have the most points by a defenceman.

Aaaand the Sunday nighter is over by 930 usually. Can drag your hungover ass to the couch and lay there literally all day and watch football.

Leaf games generally start at 5... Can watch both games on Saturdays and be done by 11.

UFC main cards start at 8PM. Baseball is on mid afternoon during the week all the freaking time.

To the point that there may be potential to relocate to the Caribbean or Europe through work and I'm actively campaigning against wife out of not wanting to (frank) with the sports watching schedule paradise that is Alberta.

The other great part is the 10am NFL start on Sunday🙏

Edit: Looks like someone showed up late to the party 😞

Playoff hockey from 4pm - 10pm with drinks and food after work every day was the best.

Full disclosure... I'm not a big fan of living in Alberta. To much wannabe south USA for me. But the sports time zone keeps me committed. 🤷‍♂️

The downside, of course, is that sports are over by 10 pm.

Waaaaaaay back in 2009 (in the depth of the recession), we rented a place on Pacific Beach in San Diego - 3 bedrooms, 3 baths for $175 a night. Me, my wife, my two kids (one was a newborn)....

...and my recently widowed mother in law.

So one night, everyone falls asleep, so I sneak out and walk to the local sports bar. Giddy-up, I finally have a little bit of me time!

Order a beer, sit down, they are playing Sports Centre. I ask them to switch to any live sports. The bartender laughs at me, says I must be from the East Coast.

FML, everything is over. I think I watched Sports Centre 3 times, because damn, I wasn't going back until I was good and drunk.

We stayed in Ucluelet a few years ago, and the bartender told us about storm watchers who come there to experience the violent storms in December.

It's definitely on my bucket list.

Ya, that would be an issue for some. Now though - I'd take it. My eyes roll backwards by 11pm every night.

I was 20'ish when I lived out west and was working on a golf course. We had to be at work by 6am most days so it was purrrrrrfect. Work, drinks, food, sleep ..repeat.
