Trump supporters are storming the Capital - they are inside at the door of the House - Pence has been evacuated - Representatives are going to be evacuated....

This is a disaster.

Phuck anyone who doesn’t think this should be discussed here - the government is under siege and cannot fulfill its constructional requirement to certify the election.

All must speak up now ESPECIALLY TRUMP AND OTHER REPUBLICANS.

do you think its time for the NHL to get out of the dark age and actually say what injuries are? unfit to play could mean. out of shape, Covid, injury, personally issue, ilness, concession, etc I dont need to know exact but come on. Does it really help people by not saying anything? also teamates have to act like he has no idea. I can't imagine the players like it because it adds to speculation. it always ends up coming out so why not just be straight forward. I know histically they were worried other players would go after a players injury after they come back but I just dont think that really happens anymore. just my opinion.

Totally agree. With all the gambling going on today, the information should be much more available.

I’m thru Mo - I’m angry at what’s going on.

There is an armed stand-off at the door of the House, evacuations of OUR government representatives, gas masks issued to representatives. If you don’t think this is terrorism, you’re not watching.

And Trump does nothing.

I’m out....unles Ebony Raptor gives me a hard time. Then all bets are off.

If I separated my shoulder, and you only found out from a media report, and came back early to play in an important game, you’d do everything you could to make sure I didn’t aggravate my injury wouldn’t you?

I believe that once the season starts they are supposed to be more transparent with injury/COVID designations. They are still allowed to be vague right now.

I think I remember the NHL saying that they will state if a player is in some sort of Covid situation going into this season. As far as unfit to play heck, Zadarov may have discovered the Russian bar in Chicago that is serving the drinks via the back door.

Get off my lawn!

I don't partake, myself, and I turn the channel when they talk about odds. But it does maintain interest from a lot of people.

This is on point plus what paulr said. For a physical injury, it's in the best interest of the team and the injured player to not specifically state what is injured or else the opponent will target that weakness.

As for COVID being an explicitly stated reason to be out, that is a public health risk so all players, coaches, personnel, referees, admin, etc. need to know ASAP.

Well, if my teammates don't play like they want to hurt the opposition anyway, then I do not want them as teammates. Whether a player is hurt or not, they are not your friend on the ice/field/diamond/court. You play to make then hurt after the game. If you are not playing that way, you shouldn't be playing.

You’d target little old moi?

If someone is gambling, they pays their money and takes their chances. I have a few investments and I don’t know all the goings on behind the scenes in a specific company . I take my chances.

To his credit, at the end of the "Return to play" camp, when he decided he was not in shape yet, he stated to the press that all he wants is the same opportunity to compete for a spot as they are giving everyone else - and not to write him off.

It will be tough for him to do so being out. I'm guessing with the shortened camp and limited training, we will see more injuries as well as guys needing a night off every now and then. I just hope that he can prove his worth when given the chance.

- Chunk

Thanks for sharing that about Seabrook.

Everyone needs to earn it. If Seabrook comes back strong, then by all means, he should get a spot.

Yet, Seabrook also was a shadow of his former self due to lingering injuries that he should've taken care of years ago.

So the flipside of the coin is if a rookie proves to be better, then they should start over him. Either way, I still see Seabrook on the expanded roster.
