Are they still around? I thought they all went out of business. Although that could be due to the fact I don't live near Chicago anymore... - Chunk
I haven't had a sub from Mr. Submarine in over ten years, maybe around 2009? I moved to the West Coast in 2011 so not sure if they're still around.

Hey, at least some good news...
#tblightning will have around 3,900 capacity (23-percent) for home games starting w/ Jan. 13 home opener. Season ticket packages sold out in day and a half. Around 500 tickets for each game on sale to public Friday + Saturday. More coming to

Good chuckle.
I'm also intrigued by Suter. Tyler totally called it about Kubalik. Hearing similar stuff about Suter, maybe not 30 goals but still good numbers. - Popsghostly
I don't like the idea that people say that he is "somewhere between Kubalik and Kahun". As far as point production is concerned, sure, that is likely appropriate. However, The more I read and see of him, I find him to be a very complete player. Not afraid to go to high traffic areas. Adept at winning pucks without using a ton of force/banging. Great at reading plays defensively to break them up. Soft hands, good passer, and all around nice guy (ok I embellish here).
The knock that I've seen is that he can be pushed around due to being a bit light, but it doesn't happen often and he has a little bit of Kane in him with regard to avoiding hits. I think him on a line with Kubalik is a great idea. |

Waste Management?
I'm with you on the state of the team. One thing that may be overlooked a bit is that there are very few guys on the team that played under Q, and thus far fewer that were so used to playing under his structure. I'm hoping this allows for a more cohesive effort by the team. Like you, I'm excited to see what happens this year. - Chunk

Based on what I've viewed and read on Suter, that's a very accurate description, Chunk, especially the bolded parts. |

@CZprospects
Men’s national team head coach Filip Pesan publicly criticized Michal Teply (#Blackhawks) for his bad attitude in training (at the Karjala Cup) and poor performance before WJC.
Pesan said the coaches were even considering releasing Teply from the WJC team before the tournament. - Theo Fox
Just to clarify, my understanding is that Pešán criticized his performance
at WJC and suggested they considered sending Teplý home from the Karjala Cup.
But that does not change the thing that Pešán once again publicly and extensively singled out one young player by the name and criticized everything else under the sun save his own majesty. I don't know anything about Teplý, what he is like. Sure, he was expected to be much better at WJC. However, 1) why keep him in the lineup if Pešán speaks truth (especially compared to Slovakia when they exiled Maxim Čajkovič), that does not help anyone or anything, and 2) Pešán is full of crap and just a bully, showing muscle and picking on someone in weaker position. No sympathy from me for Teplý if he is lazy or entitled, but absolutely no sympathy for Pešán, who has again shown his true colours and poor leadership. |

Hey Theo. I've seen one clip of Altybarmakyan and he looked pretty quick. Any in-depth analysis of him thus far?
If you watch him skate, his stride reminds me of Rick Nash. Slightly up over his stakes, but he carries a lot of speed/momentum. |

So, we didn't get the full story? The heck you say.
Thanks for the additional info. At the end of they day, Teply will make his own bed with the Hawks. I'm interested to see what he can do considering his past performance. We shall see. |

Thanks for sharing this perspective and background info, particularly on Pesan.
When I saw this tweet, I took it with a grain of salt in that (A) Teply is young enough to mature especially with Hawks brass having a sit down with him to ensure he's on the right track, and (B) Pesan doesn't come off as a players' coach who leads well. |

Altybarmakian has a high motor and is a puck magnet like Hagel. Speedy, fearless, and gravitates to the net.
His shot release is well timed, too, getting goalies to commit and will tether the puck through an opening from the doorstep.
He's not a perimeter player. Not a defensive wizard but puts in effort. |

As a young coach, Pešán did well in Liberec (altough the team was basically stacked). Some people like him because he is outspoken and does not mind to stir the pot, some consider him an arrogant jerk. Who knows, which is more accurate. He is CZE national team coach now and has been working for the association for a long time.
Full interview is ie. here: https://hokej.cz/pesan-me...uby-budeme-tvrdsi/5054031
Everyone could see the state of CZE U20 team and make their own opinion now. At this time, Teplý is not much else besides a great shot. He was expected to provide goals, but was largely ineffective (unlike the year before). All thing considered, to be honest, everyone who has seen Teplý play for Winnipeg last year has better idea what he is truly about. He is still very much at the beginning of his career. |

Sup jhawk. I differ from you in the evaluation of ADB. While he did add a little size, I think his regression was way overblown. Guys have down years. It happened to Toews, Hossa and many others. From what I saw ADB was notably better in most other aspects of the game. In his own zone, he is still a work in progress. Transitioning, neutral zone and in the offensive zone, I found him to be much better and more aware of not taking himself completely out of play. He hit a lot of posts and yes, he did misfire some, but his numbers will come back once his shooting percentage does.
I'll agree with rpeters1 here when he says that ADB needs to find a way of being less of a liability in the D-zone.
Re Boqvist, obviously, time will tell. He is still young, so large physical growth is not uncommon. I doubt it will hamper him. His skating still looks really fluid and if he can just trust himself to be more involved in the play (instead of being ultra concerned about D), he'll be a real good asset.
Cheers! - Chunk
You are probably right, saying there other reasons for ADB down season beside his playing in a different more muscular body. I have also said that I think he gets back to his old self. I don't know how long it takes for him

Maybe that's why 175 pound Suter was able to outmuscle him in front of the net yesterday. Sheesh |
