It's a good thing they bring a (frank) ton more to the table than Hal Gill.
And, no, no they don't. |

I don't think that's true.
I'm sure if Kirsten Shilton asked John Tavares what he thought of the Canadiens, he'd say:
"They are a good team - they've come to play. We need to respect them, but at the same time, we need to play our game. Just focus on doing the little things right: winning the puck battles, getting pucks in deep, competing every shift." - Atomic Wedgie
John 'Crash Davis' Tavares, schooling a young Eddy Calvin 'Nuke' Laloosh on how to handle the media in the hockey mecca of the world. Or to Burkie, the 'Vatican of hockey'. You need to end that off with, "If the good Lord is willing, things will go our way" |

In light of what Tavares said, I think that may underestimating him a bit.
Damn it sounds like EVERY Leaf is going to have a career year! There will definitely not being any laziness, disinterest, poopty goaltending or choking in the playoffs. - Aetherial

Hal Gill wasn't bad at all. He invented the squid technique on the PK, which was pretty damn effective.
His years in Montreal, he had a very positive impact on the team.

These early camp comments are the best.
"Can't believe how fast he was"
"He's a tremendous player, I can see him having huge success on our line"
"He's stronger and better than ever"

It is all true. A couple sources I spoke with this morning said they are considering folding their franchises. This simply is not fair to the rest of the teams. |

I put Leafs Nation running Hal Gill out of town right up there with running Larry Murphy out of town.
We signed him for (iirc) about $2M. His role was to be the 6th defenceman and play on the PK.
BUT HE DIDN'T RUN UP 78 POINTS THAT YEAR - HE SUX!!!
He sucked so bad that in game 7 of the 2009 Stanley Cup final, the Penguins gave him 19:55 of ice time. |

My only political post (reaaaaaally want to keep it to hockey) on here will be the next proposal: let's try and get some clever stand up comedians run our countries instead of some career politicians -- seems like the comedians are the only ones left with some common sense..
so I'd go and live in a country led by Norm MacDonald, Bill Burr and Dave Chappelle..
