Unfalsifiable.

I'll share with you my thesis about claims of common sense on social media in relation to politics and policy as soon as it's ready.

But as a generalization, people with common sense will rely on all sources of data to inform their beliefs. People who often claim common sense in their way of thinking (ie. why would anyone want to work if their income is taxed, it's just common sense!) reject external information in the formulation of their beliefs, since it is informed by their own sense of... common sense (?).

I'm certainly not shocked by this.

To be honest, it makes a helluva lot of sense to keep it remote until the lockdown is lifted.

It's been a bit of challenge for us and our 7 year old, but we're managing. One of the only reasons it's been possible to manage is because my wife has been forced to shutter her salon during this lockdown.

Once the lockdown is lifted, if the schooling is still remote....

I’ve been saying it’s going to be longer for a week now, the teachers spent 2 days handing out chrome books etc - to only teach for 3 days??? Didn’t make sense...( I work at a school )

My only political post (reaaaaaally want to keep it to hockey) on here will be the next proposal: let's try and get some clever stand up comedians run our countries instead of some career politicians -- seems like the comedians are the only ones left with some common sense..

so I'd go and live in a country led by Norm MacDonald, Bill Burr and Dave Chappelle..

- MaximusAurelius

Should just ban party politics.

Every single member at every level elected as an independent to represent their riding, voting as an independent representing their riding.

Takes team voting out of the equation and forces the average voter to select an individual on policies and merit. Unless they just pick the option with the best name of course. 🤷‍♂️

Their views are comical and I laugh at most of the things they say, but I don't agree with all of their views simply because they're funny or likeable.

Bill Burr in particular just likes to shock people with his rejections of modern society in a loud nasal voice.

He had a time when it was funny though.

The only issue is that this should have been obvious and they should have said two weeks or longer from the start so people could plan.

What?
Does this include ontario elementary schools?

- Fakepartofme

Yep announcement at 3pm.

I have kids in grade 1 and grade 3. They went back in September so it’s been good.

Starting in Home this week and its been a nightmare. We have a 15 month old too that terrorizes the house so it’s been a fun week. I go back to work next week but I feel bad for the wife, this stuff is torture lol

Common Sense Revolution was a flop. And I agree with what I think you’re saying: it’s not logical (common sensicle) for me to support something not directly in my own interests just because it supports the greater good.

I think if I could boil it down to a single sentence: Common sense (or intuition) is not a form of evidence

Not to mention our kids school sent everything they had at school home. Indoor shoes to every last pencil. You know it’s going longer then a couple weeks.

I feel like Hal Gill could be 1.1 times faster than Joe Thornton. Or just as fast.

Either way, that's not a compliment.

I’m not saying that’s what I think.

Semantics. World vision means looking beyond your narrow interests (good thing)

For most, applying common sense will mean looking at their own narrow interests. But like I said, it’s semantics. I don’t care what you call it if you support policies and approaches that look beyond your specific interests.

Oh poop. That sucks. I haven’t played guitar since I started piano lessons. I need to make progress so I can suck equally on two instruments. My wife just started again on guitar. We’re both taking lessons with our daughter.
