Your wrong. He can be signed today and could have been signed a month ago. It’s totally not helping the Islanders that their 1C and a PPC is not training with the team. Especially this year when training camp is 10 days and it’s a shortened ~50 game season. But if you think this was planned then you keep telling yourself that.

In the mean time here’s an article you should read which might help you understand the cap/ LTIR etc. I chose this one because it easy reading.

I need salary cap for dummies. I thought they were waiting on JB too but I guess that doesn’t make sense if Trotz is throwing jabs toward Barzal. Also thought it was discussed on here back when JB decided to “retire.” So he’s actually holding out?

Wants to be an Islander but obviously hasn’t agreed to a deal.

They can be and could have been 10% above the cap up until the 1st day of the season(1/13/21 ).
Why would you want your best offensive player not in camp? Especially thus year?
Make no sense saying they have a deal but are waiting for the LTIR to hit.
