Have not heard much of anything about sandin, NAK, or Allison. Will you be doing a piece on them or have they not stood out too much? Thanks. |

and truthfully with Patrick healthy, there is no space for him at C. There is really no room at wing right now. I think on other teams he would be playing. Just tough, bad luck with with shortened seasons and bad timing on the depth chart. The kid needs to play - wcorvette
Has there been any news on when the AHL starts back up? |

I still think Frost will have success in the NHL as a wing. He just seems more suited physically and skill set wise to be a wing. - MBFlyerfan
My only concern with Morgan Frost is where he fits in the line up right now. I think he’d only benefit playing with certain players, like certain players would only benefit if they played with him. |

I'm sure Gus and/or Ghost are capable of playing a few shifts on PK if pressed into duty.
PK is important, but the vast majority of the game is played at ES, and that should take priority when assembling the starting lineup.
With that said, if you're up against a team with a lights out PP, then you sub Hagg or Braun in for Gus. - Tomahawk
I don’t want ghost on the pk whatsoever. |

Best 5 on 5 lineup defensively. I just think losing Niskanen plus going that way is going to hurt the PK. - MJL
My concern with Gustafsson and Gostisbehere in one line up is also the PK. My assumption is neither guy will play on it, forcing only four of six defenders playing on it. Plus, what if on of those four PK mainstays takes a penalty. I’m also not in favor of PP time being taken from Sanheim, as well as Myers to a lesser extent.
My other concern is how Ghost responds to seeing a lot of the Ov’s, Crosby’s and Barzel’s of the league. |

If Ghost can be his old self on the PP I could care less if Sanheim/Meyers played on it at all. Totally fine with Provy and Ghost being the two Dmen on the PP |

It would be very interesting if PP1 added Ghost to the right where Jake is slotted and shifted Jake to the left QB spot or down low. I have a hard time seeing Provy losing his spot since he was successful last year, but who knows with this year. Having said that, if Ghost can get PP2 going it would be great to have 2 units that can strike. |

To be honest I know he has some goals but I really feel that as a whole Provy deters the flow of the PP. if you think back to when Ghost was doing his thing him and G meshed so well together. Ghost would fake a shot, get the defense moving and send the puck back the other way. |

Was Provy successful there last year? I just remember agreeing with several people here, who thought he was too predictable.
In the pp, they really need to move more or pass quicker. Everyone can't hold onto the puck waiting for the perfect angle or the perfect time. Its a very static looking pp. |

Allison is feeling his way, but took strides by day 3.
Sandin isn't the type who jumps out after a viewing or two, it's more in the consistency of work down low and being a responsible player. He scored a goal yesterday in the scrimmage off a JVR pass.
NAK doesn't have to worry about an opening-night roster spot, but I'd like to see him stand out a little more in the days leading up the end of camp. I have said this before: the coaches stayed on him after his call-up, pushing and cajoling and being kind of sparing in public praise (always issued with the caveat that he was still proving himself but playing well). He took the bull by the horns and earned NHL-level trust. Just needs to carry that over and go from there.

agreed, Ghost on his game is a better PP1 QB than Provy. I could see Provy taking a step forward this year however, he just has that drive to get better
Their scheme needs tweaks, they have to have a one timer threat besides the point. They need a set play for G or someone. They need to pull the D box up to create a 2 on 1 down low with JVR in front. Just to predictable last season. |

Yea they really need to get some more movement and a few different looks. The PP unit has not been good for a while. |

I have always believed that Ghosts game is based on his self confidence and the swagger he generates from that.
If he is fully healthy, I think that will be a great boon to everything, the PP, 5 on 5 defense, everything.
He needs to be able to move effectively out there as a smaller player. If that happens, I expect to see some semblance of the guy we saw when he was having his best years.

agree and its not straight line speed, it is quickness and 2 knee issues really take that away. His edge work is key for him, I could see injuries leading to lack of confidence in his edge work. But if they start him they need to let him play, give him some rope. |

I am (was) a pretty good skier. I liked to ski the real steep slopes and real high speeds. Then as I got older my hips started to betray me and while my mind still knew what my legs needed to do, my body just couldn't handle it and I started to get afraid of those same slopes I would fly down with reckless abandon. At this point in my life I am afraid to do it at all.
I'm pretty sure a high level athlete would feel the same sense of trepidation at a much more acute degree when his body isn't allowing what his mind wants him to do. |

yeah, sprained same knee twice, never really the same and amazing how long it takes to get back. I think Ghost is hitting the spot where him being healthy, needing proved himself will help him push through and have a good season. |

I agree, but he had 7 PP goals. I think his goal totals was a reason why coaching kept in PP1 all year, even when the PP was struggling. He for sure doesn’t look as fluid as Ghost did in the past.

Ok.. Who is the better all round player Gus or Ghost?
Ghost had a spot in the NHL, but fell back to a bubble player. Whereas Gus, had been a NHL player with no reversion. Ghost has more games under his belt. They've had similar point totals. I believe many are leaning toward Ghost, just because they've seen his best and hope he regains it. I am leaning toward the relatively unknown in Gus.
I don't want to see either play with Provy. Provy needs a more stay at home defensive defenseman - so he can feel free to rome. Previously with Ghost, although Ghost play well, I felt Provy did not play well. This combo forced Provy into a more defensive role. I'd rather Provy play with Hagg. "Hagg, guard the net and I've got everything else"... |
