Those were rough numbers, but yes, a bit less travel.
I am interested to know if taxi-squads can play games with the ahl clubs, as Winnipeg, has the Moose right there, Toronto has the Marlies, right there and Quebec has stated that Laval Rockets have to play in Montreal.
Ottawa has Their team fairly close by as well.

I don't know if they can do that. The have to have a 3rd goalie and a minimum of 4 players on the taxi squad. Can they move players around between taxi-squad and ahl?
Been trying to find more info on the parameters of the taxi squad, but not having much luck.

Would still like to see him impeached. I think the Republican party should jump on that train too – rip off the bandage now so you don't have to deal with him running again in 4 years.

I would imagine that they are free to move players between the TS and AHL freely, except for quarantine rules. But maybe, so it’s fair, they can’t? I know, I didn’t answer your question at all, but my impression is sent down is sent down regardless of which spot your are sent to.

I think they should send him down to Utica and then call him back up every 10 days.... keep him in quarantine the whole season, alone until his brain snaps and NFU gets his wish.

Has the Canucks 2nd worse in Canada

Love it when they underestimate the Canucks...they should actually watch some games.

Kinda like Ferraro with Podz...compared him to J Hansen before the WJs and then after actually watching him in the tournament compared him to Landeskog

They also seem to discount the fact that the Canucks proved they can battle hard in Playoff style hockey. When you are playing teams 9-10 times in a season, it is as close to Playoff Hockey as a Regular season will ever get, many games being back to backs as well. Canucks proved, more than any other Canadian Team, that they thrive in that type of hockey.

I picked Canucks for 6th in the division and I ain't no east coaster. I think they are usually way off but they have nailed that pick this year.
Way to many of you guys look at our players and go wow, look at al the shininess we have, bunch of idiot fans we have.

It was a bad attempt at being facetious. Nothing wrong with people being optimistic about the prospects or the team, nor is it bad to be on the other side of that and be surprised they have done better than expected.👍

Lots of that going around. Sports are supposed to be fun so there will be more fun when things work out.

I’m always optimistic about the team. Although it varies on what expectations I have. I tend to focus on depth & the hurdle it is to be a force game in game out especially the playoffs. On that note we need Gaudette to better his D & a healthy Roussel to bounce back. Motte looks to be getting better. Mac could get lost in the shuffle & needs a breakout season. JV looks destined to be bottom 6 & 2nd PP. JV needs to light a fire under his ass. Sutter is the 6th player. The rest are depth.

I’d just like to say I have appreciated both film references today.

My hockey question of the day is who is going to be the face puncher on the team to take on the Tkatchucks, Kassians, Wheelers, of the division?

Rousell, Hamonic, Macewan??

Good question. Bo and JTM are likely to meet the Tchuck/Wheeler challenge and Zacmac/Schmidt/Hamonic/Myers can handle a Kassian. Though Rouse is always game. There really aren't any pugilists to start sh!t up but they can hold their own.

I think it will have to be by committee...five men in. Don’t really have any fighters but hopefully they have enough team toughness to push through the “yahoos”. Petey exemplifies that, he embraces the punishment and excels in spite of it.

According to hockeyfights.com there are an average of .19 fights per game. That means about one fight per five games. I think there are 56 games this season so your looking at what, 10 or 11 fights total.

Have an effective power play, show a bit of team toughness, and you may not have to fight at all this season.

I think it is a good thing to have a guy like Kassian on their first line. He has 15 goals two years in a row. That probably explains why Oilers are not having playoff success.

Zack can match up against Kassian if needed but I don't think you need to concentrate on that. Most of the guys can take care of themselves. Secondly if any team is targeting your top why are you targeting their goons?

Benn if he gets in the lineup has been a disappointment in the toughness dept.
